Avengers vs. X-Men: 2012 Event

Honestly, considering what Ms. Marvel has been through, her characterization really should lean more to the latter than the first. It never rung true that she hated Wanda. Carol really should be one of the first to welcome her back. As it was, #0 wasn't particularly good. Vision went understandable bat**** but he'd never do it out in the open.
But the first scene did happen. It would have made more sense had she been more hesitant and apprehensive about accepting her back. She doesn't have to still harbor such intense hate but I wouldn't have had her be Wanda's biggest cheerleader in the issue. It would have made more sense had they utilized Spiderwoman for that as she was not around during Dissassembled and wasn't personally affected. Plus having had her likeness manipulated, used and hated courtesy the Skrull queen, I think she would be more apt to empathize with Wanda than Carol would

I know Claremont introduced her as a child from an alternate future (CLAREMONT!!!:argh:) where she was the daughter of Susan and Doom. Later on she was retconned into being the miscarriage Sue had back in the 80's. How it all was resolved I don't know, I'll leave that to Franklin Richards to explain - he would know better. I think it involved magic and Doom, he helped in exchange for Reed and Sue naming her after his long lost love.

Franklin "made it work". Doom just helped out with the pregnancy problems that Sue always has. And yeah... Johnny begged Doom to help. He said "please" and everything. It was quite a scene.

:ff: :ff: :ff:

Yeah, she wasn't born around the same time. I'm pretty sure when Disassembled happened, we were right at the beginning of the Waid/Ringo run on FF, and she was like 3 then. She's 5 now.

Also, it's been awhile since that story and the current one. Plenty of time to, you know, get over it. Hell, she was just venting then.

I've just kept her frozen at 3. It's how I deal with the Franklin Age issues.

My son is 2 now and pretty big. If he talked like one of those Super Babies it would be really freaky.

i honestly think the x-men have a better chance at winning this time around but it depnds on who is on there side. however this is Marvel and a movie is coming so yeah nthe avengers will win simply for that.

Avengers won't be moping the floor with X-Men, but I think they'll have an edge in the battle until both team up to take down the baddies together. And with the movie coming in a month or less, Marvel will not make Avengers look weak in the comics. Doesn't help X-Men's case that their movie is licensed to Fox, either.

I don't get all the complaints about the Vision's emotional outbursts in either Avengers #24.1 or Avengers vs. X-Men #0. The Vision's always been emotional as f***, and he's always been one to pen it up until it explodes in big outbursts.

I mentioned in another thread that the best way to think about it is to recall the Hank Pym/Jan situation with Vision as Jan and Wanda as Hank. That's literally pretty close to the dynamic between them right now. Wanda victimized the Vision as much as Hank did Jan. I'd say he's got a pretty solid right to be angry and to shun Wanda, even though it clearly hurts him to do so.

IGN has a write up of the times the Avengers and the X-men have come together in the past and its either a draw or the Avengers tend to win, with the X-men never coming out on top. I expect that to be the case here too

The article is slightly incorrect...Avengers #53 was NOT the first time the two teams tussled. X-Men #9 was, taking place 5 years prior to Avengers #53:

Welcome to the college of comic-book knowledge. Class dismissed. :word:

Wouldnt you be upset if your wife up and killed you? Really more Avengers should be "*****ey" towards Wanda

And that's after using his body to try and kill the rest of their friends.

Damn, that's a badass wheel chair. And I love that Xavier is going to bust a cap in Lucifer.

I just picked up AvX #0 and wanted to know where is a logical place to jump into for the Avengers to catch up on em? Recently got back into comics and wanted to dive into the 616 and need to know a good place to start

Xavier:"I am about to fight an alien invasion single handedly and I need a wheel chair to do the job."
Xzibit:"Yo foo we's about to pimp out your wheel chair."

For this event you'll want to go with X-Sanction #1-4 and Young Avengers: The Children's Crusade #1-9. They both are build ups to AvX more than the monthlies have been.
