I feel so bad for him, I feel like he became obsolete ever since Scott told him to f*** off.

Yeah, I'm not too familiar with him but Cyclops seems like a colossal dick in this. With Namor on the team as well, I don't think the Avengers can handle the amount of dickery.

I think Xavier visited Wolverine's school in the first issue of Wolverine & the X-Men.

Street Team: Dazzler, Boom Boom, Lifeguard

Freakin' Lifeguard. I was so excited when I saw she was on a roster but she's yet to show up. It was the same with Chamber until he showed up in a quick scene in the recent issue of Legacy. Frustrating.

Also, between that post and the PM I sent, we both forgot X-Factor!!!

X-Factor
Multiple Man
Havoc
Polaris
Strong Guy
Wolfesbane
Rictor
Shatterstar
Siryn
Monet St. Croix (M)
Longshot
Layla Miller (from House of M, now grown up and hot)
Pip the Troll

I like how Cyclops speaks to Captain America in a manner of the racially downtrodden. Where were the Avengers when it came to mutant rights?

Thanks for posting that: I was trying to assemble the checklist, and it was becoming very frustrating. Keeping up with this is going to dissolve my budget, but it will worth it. Speaking of, I just picked up one of the previous 'Avengers vs X-Men' sets on eBay: it is the four issue X-Men vs Avengers miniseries.

Which is ironic, considering Emma said almost the same thing to Tony when he consulted her early in Civil War.

Where were the X-Men when the Avengers, FF, and Doc Strange were fighting Galactus? I'm pretty sure he would have eaten the Mutants part of the planet as well.

:ff: :ff: :ff:

"I ain't got no problem with the World Eater. No World Eater ever called me mutie"- Cyclops (I'm assuming)

What was lazy and illogical about it? Cyclops is a *****e--has been for years now--and he rashly threw the first punch when Cap came to try and isolate Hope from the Phoenix Force peacefully. Simple enough.

I thought the issue was pretty good. Bendis' writing hasn't bothered me in general lately, though, so maybe I'm biased.
Um, I was just restating other people's sentiments that they over emphasized Cyclops" *****iness to the point of mischaracterization.

I didn't read the issue myself. My whole point was to get an explaination of why people liked it. Not criticize it myself.

I haven't read it either. If I'm going to pay 3.99, I better be getting a trade paperback.

:ff: :ff: :ff:

$3.99 AND two issues a month. :o

I'm debating whether I'm going to trade wait this, i mean theoretically it'll only be a 6 month wait til its over which means about 7 months til the trade. I trade waited for Avengers Children's Crusade and it was very much worth imo.

I only buy TPB right now, so I'm going to wait as long as I can for it to come out.

That checklist wasnt even the whole thing. Here's the timeline for the main event

Havok83 - you forgot Anole as a student in WatXM and I only say it because he's my fav. Plus, who would Rockslide be with no Anole to bicker and banter off of? Here's hoping the two of them react in the WatXM issues of the AvX event. I'm suuure Anole will want to know if Wiccan and Hulkling will be on the avengers side.

A couple of things:
Don't the Avengers seem outmatched? I mean, by definition a mutant has a "power" , right?

But even though they are called superheroes, not all of the Avengers have "powers".

Hawkeye....the Widow....even Cap (though I still give him a slight edge).

Also...a technical question:

Does Vibanium absorb impact? Cap's shield has vibranium in it....right? I know it has Adamantium also.

So why was Cap thrown back by Cyclop's beam? The shield should absorbed the impact completely. That's one of the properties of vibranium.

Or maybe, the writer wanted more dramatic effect??:cap:

I apologize for a question that I'm sure has been asked 100 times but I gotta know...

So, Namor is a mutant now?

Did I miss a meeting or a vote on that?

I'll have to reread the issue tonight but after giving it some more thought I'm more inclined to believe both Cap and Scott's actions are not so far removed from their respective characters, rather they're both on edge moreso than we're used to seeing them and by design it shows us the contrast between the two of them.

Scott seems to show that edge moreso than Cap who remains calm and collected in outward appearance whereas Scott clearly is more confrontational and adversarial when pushed. At least that's how I'm seeing it after reflection. I could be nuts seeing as how the most reasonable person in this entire mess seems to be logan. :o

He's always been a mutant, or to be more specific - a mutant/Atlantean hybrid dating back to the 60's when he first crossed paths with Xavier. His dad was human and his mother Atlantean. His mutant ability is flight. All his other powers come from his Atlantean genes.

He joined the X-Men a few years ago. I don't know why he's there other than to try and bone Emma.

It was chronicled in Dark Reign: The List - X-men. He was part of the Cabal and Osborn's Dark X-men team. He defected though during the Dark Avengers/Uncanny crossover. Basically Namor helped the X-men set up Utopia and in return, they've given his people safe haven and helped him set up New Atlantis, which he rules beneath the island. Here's his bio from the Heroic Age - X-men one shot

Thats true. The Avengers has some heavy hitters but the X-men overall have more powerful members. Scott's Extinction Team could wipe the floor with alot of them. Ive always said it, but Illyana can take most of them out in one swoop. I noticed, she conveniently wasnt there for the confrontation. She could teleport that hellcarrier and all those Avengers into Limbo, the moon or 100 years in the future if she wanted to

Havok, the link did not attach.
thanks. It should work now

I always thought the X-Men's edge over the Avengers is the number of telepaths that they have, as well as having Magneto on their team right now (who is one of the most powerful mutants on Earth). However, if Hulk rejoins the Avengers, I can see the green goliath causing alot of problems for the X-Men.

The fact that Cap's shield can absorb energy is rarely remembered these days. I would chalk it up to it being too big a direct blast for the shield to handle. The shield also has the Asgardian metal Uru in it now so that could affect it......but then again, it's supposed to have a 'battle scar' across it after Fear Itself so who the hell knows?
