Comics Back In Black Discussion Thread (Spoilers)

They ruined a classic issue because they allowed something to happen that was a part of the Spider-Man mythos, and a part of what makes Peter who he is and gave him direction - they tried to fix that mistake by doing something even worse.

That is also exactly what will happen if they do anything, ANYTHING about the marriage other than let it develop and move forward. They'll do something to "correct it", then realise how adversely it affects the story telling from then on, then make a real hash of bringing it back together.

Big build for the big last-page reveal, the issue also involves what could be a last-ditch effort to save Aunt May involving Pete's unique blood. Not next week's issue, but the following month's issue, is looking to be a great showdown.

One explanation for this (I'm not sure if you already know this or not, but just throwing it out there) is that she is the Other from that storyline, and has all his powers, I think.

Ok...where do i start...does anyone think this FEELS like Spider-man???

...And I mean, LOOK AT THOSE THINGS....they look like GIANT ALBINO CARROTS coming out of Pete's wrists...how do those fit in there anyway? Notice the last pic where he's falling backward & note his actual WRIST SIZE compared to width of the bottom of his "white carrot stingers"!!

Also notice, how the first word balloon is Spidey noting aloud about his honkin' big-wrist-breakin'-'Stingers', so that someone picking up this issue wouldn't be like...WHAT THE-?...and think they've got the wrong comic.

And why would Spidey feel "GLAD" to have stingers just because his enemy has them...??!! What logic is that? (bad writing)!! >AHEM< He fights all sorts of bad guys with all sorts of "things" all the time.

Would Spidey feel GLAD if he was horny like the Rhino when fighting him? So they could lock horns like two mule deer??

Or a tail when he fights Scorpion..would that make him feel GLAD..?! Spidey always does just fine in battles without having to have the same appendages as his enemies to feel GLAD about!

Spidey broke his arm like a twig and told him to pick up his gun "you still have one good arm" then he started begging him....and Spids told him before he killed him, he wanted to know who started all this, and where they were...then the assassin got assassinated.

I hate to make judgment on a comic book based on one page of said comic book (espeshially one I;'ve been enjoying so much lately) but damn that's depressing looking....David, I beg of you....one of two choices....fix the cancerous "other" or forget the darn thing even happened...

While I do agree that the Back In Black storyline has been really good so far (In ASM and SSM since thats all I read).....I really really miss the old Spider-man cracking jokes and being a clown...

True...hadn't thought about that...but how many times HAVE his big albino swords popped out in issues that we've seen, and it wasn't ONLY IN THE PRESENCE OF PRIMAL FORCES OF CHAOS.
