Read it once quickly... I have a feeling there is more to it than I could absorb in one sitting. I guess I'll have to read it again later... :yay:

I liked it... I think... It was a hard task to cover all the potential issues that JJJ and Peter might have with each other, so it's not surprising that it felt a little incomplete.

We knew that JJJ is jealous of Spider-Man and that is where much of his anger comes from.. and Peter confronted him with that. But I always felt like part of Peter wanted JJJs approval, which is why he stuck with the Bugle... and that wasn't really touched on, which was disappointing.

I want to know what JJJ wanted to say to Peter when he was done hitting him, and Peter handed him the film of the beating... Peter left and Jonah kept calling his name... "Parker, wait. Let's talk about this. Parker...? Peter? Pete?"

It was an interesting twist that Robbie pointed out to Jonah that Peter took the punishment he gave him because he thought he deserved it... and JJJ didn't want to be used in Peter's self-flagellation anymore, so he didn't use the photos, dropped the lawsuit and rehired Robbie.

That point made me feel sad for Peter...

Now why did he take the wine at the end? Jonah's "I hate that F.N. Spider-Man." (Funny play on words) was said with a sigh, and not his usual vitriol. Something changed...

Good issue... as Captivated said, perhaps a tad incomplete, but given the history between those two, it would take a 12 issue maxi-series to cover everything, so I'll be happy with what we got, which was spot-on characterization by Peter David.

:word: :word: :word:

:yay:

It is quite a good issue as usual, and JJJ really ran into a door :D

I still don't really get why Peter lets JJJ beat him up though. The reason given is kinda a stretch to me. Peter wants to be punhished so he let JJJ beat him? Kinda weird

Yea i enjoyed the issue too. Cant wait to see where OMD goes and then BND stories.

Great issue! Great sign off for Peter David and Todd Nauck! I especially liked J.J. walking into the door, hilarious.:woot:

By the way, does anyone know when Sensational come's out?

FNSM Issue#23 was awesome! It was a really interesting Issue. I also thought that JJJ walking into the door was great and hilarious! :yay::up:

I thought the confrontation betweeen Parker & Jameson was epic . Congrats to Peter David on his outstanding run on F.N.S.M.

Even with his guard down, JJJ shouldn't make Pete bleed, let alone bruise, but looks great anyway.

Agreed. I loved Peter's attitude towards JJJ in their confrontation. I also loved it when Spidey asked JJJ to hit him.

FNSM Spoilers... but it's been out awhile so...

So... Robbie thought Peter is feeling so low and so guilty that part of this was about him feeling like he deserved to be punished... and that's probably true. He thought that is why JJJ reversed himself... he didn't want to HELP Peter punish Peter.

But there's more. Peter accused JJJ of always hiring/paying others to go after Spider-Man, and challenged him to get his own hands dirty. With his mask off, he goaded JJJ into hitting him... which made Jonah's assault more PERSONAL than perhaps it's ever been. I think that's also what helped diffused it. He realized what he was doing...

Then when Peter gave him the film and left, Jonah called out to him... wanted to talk about it. That's different.

Too bad this is about as far as this subject will be explored. It's gotten much more complicated and deeper than just blow-hard JJJ making poor little misunderstood Spider-Man's life miserable.

The whole Peter/JJJ meeting could have been a 6 part mini.....and it still wouldn't have seemed enough

I think Peter is going a bit too desperate and crazy to help his aunt. And finally, police is about to notice Aunt May!
I agree... I can see him being frantic to do everything in his power... but you know where this is leading us. I mean, unless they do something unpredictable for a change, this is just setting us up for that "big decision" which is probably going to be between bringing Aunt May back and loosing his marriage or keep the status quo with the marriage intact.

Now what do you think AUNT MAY would want him to do? You know she would jump in front of a bullet to save Peter and MJ... Would she want him making a decision that brought her back but in the process distroyed his relationship with his wife... his soulmate? I don't think so. :(

Do you think if Peter was in his RIGHT mind... as in, not being yanked out of shape by the writers need to dump the marriage.... that he would come to the same conclusion?

Hard to say... but it feels forced because I KNOW this story is just ultimately a vehicle to get Joey Q what he wants...

Loved the new FNSM! Im really gonna miss PAD when this book is done.

PAD's been the most quality writer on a Spidey title in a long time......I was really hopin beyond hope that he was going to remain on as one of the ASM writers.

ok... Peter seems in complete denial, maybe a bit too much. I mean how many times has Aunt May been close to die? I thought with the time Peter would be at least aware of that event. Sometimes his guilt is a little bit overexpressed. But it's just my opinion.

As for the last FNSM, I thought it was too dense. Like someone said with all the history those two guys have, it would need more than that to cover it correctly. I was confused.

...hmmm another Gwen Stacy reference......and a bit of an MJ snub to boot "some would say his truest love"...ouch...
