Comics Back In Black Discussion Thread (Spoilers)

I got a copy of ASM #543 a decent issue with no Spidey action but Peter's narration at the end has me wondering on how 'One More Day' will turn out:spidey:

FNSM #23-

I found to be an entertaining issue- it was fun to see JJ and Peter square up and have it out for the first time since Peter going public (of course, I’m hoping this whole duel identity being public knowledge thing gets wiped in the upcoming OMD storyline). As we already knew JJJ has always resented Spider-Man due to him being a jealous ass, and it was cool to see him prove it again by beating up on PP. Loved the painted cover too.

I’m pretty disappointed that both this series and Sensational are now coming to an end. Upon picking up FNSM#23 last week I mused to my comic dealer how there’s no way Marvel can keep up the ASM x3 a month schedule more than a year, and it is inevitable that eventually new sister titles will be launched. Why?!- Sensational and FNSM were coming into there own and then they canned. I guess we will have to wait until JQ is no longer the boss before this cycle of crap ends.

Oh well, I'm actually looking forward to OMD, and perhaps rather foolishly optimistic that some good will come the story. I like the look of Joe Q's normally unappealing pencils, and at least it's a four parter so they are not gonna be dragging it out. Plus once it’s done, so is JMS which is good. Here’s hoping he’s got something decent in store.

Yea i am glad JMS will finally be off the title and i hope the new teams of writers/artists and bring the character back to the normal spideyness that jms screwed with.

So am I, I hated most of JMS's run, I like this 3 time's of month idea.:yay:

I can't wait until the day after tommorw. I'm so excited for the finale of the Back in Black storyline. It was a great storyline, and I really enjoyed it! :yay::up:

Yeah, so did I, it was much better than The Other, Clone Saga, and all those Civil War tie in's( other storie's as well, but I enjoyed Back In Black more so.).:yay:

Me to. Back In Black was far more cool and interesting those storylines.

Even though FNSM 23 was pretty good, I was actually let down by the much hyped up conversation between Peter/Spidey and Jonah. I don't know....It just really didn't do much for more. I expected more more.

Ah well, still a good issue.

Also, while it might be a small complain. How the heck did Jonah give Peter all those bruises? I was under the impression that Peter couldn't really be bruised like that by a human.

^ thts what i was thinking. i would of thought the first punch would of hurt JJJ really bad, and not hurt pete at all

yea that was a problem for me too. I guess they just goofed up lol.

I read it too...

Peter ends the issue having an anxiety attack about all the felonies (9 to be exact) that he - Peter Parker - had just committed that day. His last words are "I'm lost - God help me, I'm so lost..."

It all started with the police suspicious about the whole scenario... A cop came to take MJ in for questioning and Peter intervened. He punched the guy out, tied him up and stashed him. He then stole an ambulance, dressed up like an orderly, got MJ to steal some blank patient transfer forms, put Aunt May on a gurney, wheeled her out to the stolen ambulance and transfered her to another hospital with the forged papers. (I'm not kidding.)

He managed to pull it off... but later, out in some corridor of the hospital MJ starts to cry. She says, "I don't mean to be scared Pete, but I keep wondering.. what's happening to us? What's going to happen to us? Where is this all going to end?" Peter replys "I don't know MJ. I just can't stop fighting. Not for her. And not for us. Not now. Not ever."

Then he tells MJ he's going to go ditch the ambulance across town... She says, "And then?" Peter says, "Then... we'll think of something else."

As Peter leaves he starts having a melt down about really being a criminal now... no trap, no set up, no anti-registration technicality... with his fingerprints all over everything...

He says that HE committed these crimes... not Spider-Man...

But he can't really say that now, can he? With his identity known, that distinction isn't clear anymore...

ASM #543 and Sensational Spider-Man #40 were awesome! I loved it when Peter punched that cop in ASM #543. I also loved it when God showed Peter how many people he has saved over the years, etc. I really loved when it showed Peter and MJ getting old and Mary and Benjamin growing. It was defenitley a great way to end the storyline. :yay::up:

I'll be picking the issues up in a few hour's, they sound great according to your description sm12.:yay:

yea i got both today and they both were pretty good.

Aloha,
Both represent a step up in quality of writing.I found myself really getting into both story lines.Amazing and Sensational flow very well.
