Comics Back In Black Discussion Thread (Spoilers)

Am I the only one that's glad that all the years we've speculated that Robbie knew Peter was Spider-Man is finally revealed???

:csad:

Yep, I'm glad. I kinda always knew that he knew, though. Robbie is no dummy! He's a good guy.

I think I liked it better when we all guessed that he knew.
I think that Daily Bugle scene could have been a bit better to be honest. JJ wanting to use a YouTube video as a source for news in his paper? JJ's more creative than that.
The scene kind of felt like it was just thrown together. I understand the weight of what is happening but I think it could have been more effective if handled a different way.

I agree but I think it was setting up the big JJJ/Pete confrontation coming up. It wasn't terrible and the confrontation ended well with what was the appropriate response by both Robbie and JJJ. I'm curious where it will go. So I guess I was happy with it for the most part.

Is the black costume Symbiote or did he just make it to look like it is?

He freaked out, got a replacement costume that was held in place my magically long-lasting webbing and decided to wear it. He then started calling himself 'the Spider'...whoops, wrong storyline...

I'm wondering what JJJ is gonna do now. Robbie has always been his moral compass regarding Spidey so now that he fired him, the possibilites are endless. I'm glad they finally revealed that he knew he was Spidey. Meh @ wanting it to stay ambiguous. Variety is the spice of life. ;)

they might just get rid of the whole peter parker comming out as spider-man when all the mutants who got depowered in house of M get there powers back. a reality warp thing again..

No, you're not. Peter David is basically single handedly cleaning up Spider-Man continuity, haha!

That was probably one of the most intense scenes in a Spider-Man comic in a long time. Robbie just freakin' owned JJJ. Unfortunately Robbie paid the ultimate price but it was cool to finally get that confirmation that all those years Robbie Robertson knew Peter Parker was Spider-Man.

I'm sure a lot of others around here liked it too. They're just too hung up on Spider-Man having stingers and they're acting like this WASN'T going to happen again. I mean they have only been building up Ms. Arrow as The Other for the past 6 months. Or are me and themanofbat the only ones who actually READ these books. :oldrazz:

I loves the stingers...I thought it's pretty cool :D

This is a good issue, but I don't know what will happen to Mysterio and Ero's boss plotline after PAD left

PAD probably won't leave. I wouldn't be surprised if he's one of the ASM writers. No SiaT, you're not the only one. LOL

I've stopped going on here as regularly as I used to because I got tired of the *****ing. There comes a time when you stop *****ing about it and Crap or get off the pot one way or another. I love Spidey so I'm going to follow him no matter what, unless they do something like make someone else Spider-Man.

People get so caught up with things they don't agree with/like that they forget that Spidey is still out there in the Marvel U fighting for his life.

That as well as Betty's admiting she always knew Peter was Spidey , but was blinded by her love for peter she dismissed the whole issue .

I hope they end Ero story arc in the next issue

I do believe that the Ero storyline is supposed to end next issue. It's either next issue or the one after that...but I don't see how much else story that David has in store for it. So, I'd bank on next issue. It'll definitely be sad to see David go though, especially for what he's done with Peter's classic supporting characters. It's possible that we might not even see them again!! :wow:

You guys see that JMS is doing the screenplay for the Silver Surfer movie spin-off?

If it's anything like his first issue of Silver Surfer: Requiem, then it should be an excellent movie.

Amazing Spider-Man 541 SPOILERS

Back In Black continues as Peter acts even more dangerous. The sewer scenes where Peter 'sends a message' are very disturbing. I've never seen Peter threatening any people with such aggressiveness before. Nice use of shade by Garney by the way, showing how angry Peter is.

The issue ends with Spider-Man facing Kingpin (and other inmates) in the jail. So I guess we can safely assure Peter won't kill Kingpin since this story does take place before Daredevil released Kingpin

I can't wait to read it .

It sounds like Peter really gone over the hedge . Could you imagen if peter was wearing the real black symbiote suit ? :wow: :sym:

i think the one of the only people to bring him back down to earth could be a certain mr.reily.

Hmm...I don't think there are any memorable moments. Just the usual MJ worrying about Peter's condition

What pissed me off is how they always seems to write in some plot line to have Spidey at "half-strength" when he fights Kingpin!! I was like "AAAAAAwwwww Come on!!! The friggin' blood transfusion???

For once, I'd like to see Parker at full strength against this guy......not all feverish and crap!! :cmad: What a gyp!!

This issue was not as good as the last two. That's not to say it was bad, just not much happened. It was mostly set-up for next issue. It's funny because this storyline gives me so many flashbacks to Pete's "I AM THE SPIDER" days, with a dark, brooding and violent Spider-Man, Aunt May in a coma, Pete and MJ's marriage strained, etc. For all the melodrama and over-the-top pathos, I for one sorta liked that period of Spidey and I'm enjoying this unintentional sequel now. :woot:

Sensational was good. Great characterization for Eddie Brock.

What I want to know is, how come in Sensational, Friendly and every other book, everyone seems to know about Pete's Aunt in the hospital and in ASM it's a secret? Maybe that'll be explained. And .... oh my God... JMS actually references continuity besides Gwen Stacy and Uncle Ben dying!! Shocked! :cwink:

I am enjoying "Back in Black" though, shameless movie tie-in or not.
