I noticed that the Blade series and X-men series (2 of Marvel's most successful) seem to have followed the same pattern:
#1=good
#2=best
#3=worst
Does anyone think this bodes ill for Spidey 3?
Note:Spidey DOES have the advantage of having the same director for all 3 films, something the other 2 didn't.

spiderman 3 will be awesome........mark my words.

well, that's true of most trilogies. the only two cases I can think of off the top of my head that weren't so was the LotR trilogy and the SW prequels.

Like u said about the directors, all directors in the second movie handled it awesome, but then they got a new director and he totally sucked the life out of the franchise (even though i though X3 was the best X-men so far...thats just my opinion).
Spidey has a great director who is a loyal fan and will NOT screw up the franchise like a bunch of crap rumors are saying. :spidey:

I actually find the pattern to be as such:

1- Best (until 3)
2 -Worst
3 - Best in series.

the pattern doesn't apply to franchise movies such as james bond that never end.

I'm feeling a little worried about the third but that's because of the rumor of Venom in it, sorry, not a fan of the symbiotes. But since it's still the same the director there is a glimmer of hope. Just have to wait and see when it hit theaters before making any final judgement.

I liked X3, wasn't too crazy about the 1st, the 2nd one was good.

So far I've liked all of the Spidey movies and I'm sure SM3 will add to the list.

X-3 was the best and felt like the comic.

Since not everybody hates X3 it's a moot point.

correction. SM2 was only good. Not the worst or the best, just good.

I don't know,it seems to me like every trilogy of movies varies.I saw the first two X-men and I thought they were about the same.I haven't seen the Blades.I watched the first two LOTR and forgot why I was watching them.
SM2 improved from SM1 and the third should be better.Have faith.

yeah i actually kind of agree.

I watched/listened to it a couple of days ago

it was good, except for the Aunt May flip out over the 20 bucks

and Molina's bastardization

True, #3 of most superhero franchises so far have signaled their downfall. For the most part its happened on the other end with DC Comics. Superman III and Batman Forever were both considered dissapointments relative to their predecessors. Than of course, disaster fourth installments (The Quest for Peace, Batman and Robin) doomed the Caped Crusader and Man of Steel and both series were off the big screen for quite some time, until Chris Nolan resurrected Batman and than Superman Returns in a few weeks. As for Marvel, I guess Blade and X-Men struggled a little bit with their third movies. Well, it doesn't seem like there are gonna be any more X-Men flicks, just spinoffs, so I guess they're trying to avoid the killer #4. Hopefully Spider-Man 3 won't follow the trend, I guess there's a lot of intriguing hype around it already, so lets just see what happens.......

No but the Matrix followed a similiar line.

1. Best
2. Good
3. Worst

I'd disagree witht the Matrix comment.

1. Best
2. Great
3. Nice!

:)

Umm....well unless you think "Nice" is better than "Great" and "Great" is better than "Best" than you don't disagree with me, you just simply labelled them differently.

X-Men 3's fight scenes were immense, and i feel Sm films have always been better, so i'm feeling optimistic

That post demonstrates perfectly what's wrong w/this thread as a whole; it's based on one man's opinion, stated as though it were fact, when it's not an opinion that everyone or even the majority share.

I liked both Blade 3 and X-men TLS, can't say the same for Matrix Revolutions though. Since Sam Raimi is still the director and we already have a feel for his work with bringing spiderman to the big screen, I don't have any worries that this won't be just as good as the first two if not better.
