Bad Robot/Jonathan Nolan Bringing "Westworld" to HBO - Part 1

I have a different question about last episode. Maybe it's something that I didn't understand or missed but I did watch the episode twice. I didn't see if it was discussed before here.

How did they go to all this trouble to create a Lee Sizemore who remembers everything he went through with Maeve but failed miserably with everyone else's copy? Felix, Sylvester, even Hector didn't remember a thing in the simulation and they were with her from the beginning. I mean either you are thorough enough to make everyone close to her have updated memories or you just miss that part entirely. The only reason I can think is they wanted to confuse the audience but also make it easy for the character to see through the illusion so that they can move on with this subplot within one episode. For which I'm actually kind of glad. But plotwise it doesn't make much sense to me.

Sizemore was meant to be human and himself.

The hosts are just that. No need to keep up a pretense for them. Hector being reprogrammed with only what he needs to know as a host is not a big stretch.

As for Felix and Sylvester, there's a good chance that Serac and/or his people just have no clue how much she interacted with those two. Just that they were park employees.

Yeah and it strikes me weird that he would be aware of almost every interaction she had with one and absolutely none regarding the other two even though they helped even more so from the start. For him to go into all this trouble to make a believable world and to have so much data access that he'd pass Lee's memories to the copy simulation means he should be aware of the others too.
With Hector I hear the argument.

That is one ED-209 looking riot control robot.

So, I don't think Charlotte has been replaced by Teddy. Her issues don't exactly track with what we saw from Teddy, even last season.I'm just not entirely sure which host the arm cutting corresponds to, but it feels like it is familiar. But hey, they continue to pick good targets for them to go murderbot on them.

And it is great to see more of just how screwed up the real world is.

I feel like there were significant clues on who Hale is (particularly Dolores’ “you belong to me” line) but I still don’t know who she is. :funny: I don’t remember any of the hosts being that way with Dolores. The closest is Teddy but yeah I don’t feel that she’s Teddy.

It has to be her papa or Riley's character. Right? Unless we find out she had some kind at some point, or I guess another Arnold?

I have only seen it once, but that might be my favorite episode of the show far.

- This teasing of the identity is getting out of hand. :argh:

- One of the was Bernard. Good to know.

- Micro transitions. More game lingo. :o

- So she has no blood, yet we just saw blood on Fake Valkyrie (from now on simply know as Falkyrie). So is it only surface level?

- Aiden Pearce is my knight with shining forehead. :atp:

- Righteous killing Dolores is probably in the top 10 hottest things I have ever seen, and I have seen at least 10 Tom Hardy movies.

- Dolores is kind to Aiden. I have been wondering for awhile why Bernard assumes Dolores is going to murder all of humanity. She didn’t kill the woman at the start of the season, and let Aiden go here. Is Bernard wrong again?

- I am enjoying so far how this season each episode has felt dedicated to a different character.

- Falkyrie in a few scenes away form yelling, “I’m in charge Dolores! I’m in charge!”

- Another Root inspired outfit for Dolores. :atp:

- I did not expect this deterioration/blurring/blending to start so quickly, but it sure as hell interesting.

- And now she is dressed like Shaw, tank top included. She’s half Root, half Shaw. Snow Queen is dead.

- Who knew you could do an entire phyiscal on a robot with an electric toothbrush.

- The names this season are hilarious.

- I want to say this is her father at this point.

- Tender Dolores is so weird at this point, but in a good way.

- My wife undressed Falkyrie, got into bed with her and spooned with her? Snow Queen is definitely dead now.

- Yeah, I am not going to be able to judge this show fairly if she is going to be wearing these outfits all season.

- This season with Aiden on the building was one Commando style holding of him over the edge upside down with one arm, away from being a classic.

- And now this just got extremely painful. For me.

- The medical droid idea was so cool.

- She’s Root with guns with actual kickback!

- I totally thought she was about it say, “I’m Batman.”

- Aiden Pearce is the luckiest man on earth.

- So as soon I saw the kid, guy and dog, I assumed it was his father and then made a joke about him being a pedo. And then it turned out to be an actual pedo!

- Falkyrie with the foreplay on the pedo. Or at least that is at least how my best friend saw it.

- She killed him. Good. But her last line made it sound like she wasn’t going to. :hehe:

- She is now officially, “More mommy then mommy.”

- A diner, Machine style talking from a hot woman in a leather jacket, talk of a machine that is watching everyone… seriously someone check on Snow Queen!

- All that is missing is the pancakes.

- You know how bad I now wish they had cast The Passion of the Reese as Cassel’s character? Especially if they tried to act like he was still super smart. :funny:

- Dolores is the best person.

- A choice no one else would make? You are underestimating how good you looked in that dress.

- The Revolution will in fact be televised. Sunday nights on HBO.

- That phone number cracker thingy on the phone, sounded like Silver Bells. :hehe:

- Are they about to go into Danny Boy? :funny:

- I love how Google is obviously the evil entity on this show, down to the Google glasses. :funny:

- We still don’t know who she is!!!!! :argh:

- Like that credit song.

- Next Sunday can’t come soon enough!!! The return of the man in black!

I just can’t see Abernathy being horny for a guy though? :funny: I’ve read a theory that
Hale might be farmgirl Dolores and I kinda see it?! :wow: But that would mean Dolores is not really Dolores then!

That is a fun theory! I like it.

Oh yeah...
I've been thinking Wyatt is in Dolores' body and Dolores is in Charlotte.

Aren't they all kind of one in the same now though? Still, if it was what is going on, I feel like it would be flipped. As Dolores seems to be acting very Dolores right now. Especially in her handling of Cal. The speech about them being the same. She cares a lot more then Wyatt ever did.

Yeah, that's the thing about this show... you come up with a theory and things support it AND tear it down. I'm not reddit and can't figure out the whole season by episode 2. :hehe:

Except everything we're seeing in the "real world" is a simulation and it takes place in Park 5: Futureworld. :o

re: the blood.

Its blood, but not "real" blood, as it where. It is missing a lot of key things, which is why the machine was having issues. Along with the host of other chemicals a host doesn't need that would be in a human. It is important to remember, as human as they look and appear to bleed, they are still robots, not cyborgs.

It will anger people but TBH I’m not ruling this out especially with how much they mentioned
simulation and game in the first ep.

Another theory on who Falkyrie is:

What if she is William? Especially with the whole skin peeling stuff. He definitely has some kid issues now as well. I could see next week being "in his head" or even a flashback to when Dolores "claimed" him. We still aren't sure what the end of last season means. I know they said it was the far flung future, but I never trust such things. Delos could be in play as well, though I doubt that one.

Got to say I loved the somberness of this new episode. It was very heavy on the drama, but damn did Tessa Thompson kill it. Loved her scenes with Delores, Michael Ealy and her son. Another really solid dramatic performance from Aaron Paul too and I can't wait to see how his relationship with Delores deepens even further. That aspect is becoming more interesting than I thought it would be honestly.

My favorite scenes of Tessa's were her scenes with her son. She has the robot blank stare on but you just know that the wheels are turning inside her head and she's feeling so confused.

Another theory on who Hale is:

Piggybacking off the Wyatt theory. What if what is in Hale is Dolores' "child". Like she created what is in Hale, using parts of herself and/or maybe even Teddy. Much like how kids are parts of their parents. That could explain why it doesn't have a proper identity, but at the same time has a past. Would also probably go a long way to explaining the identity crisis.

The way "Hale" defaults to killing, makes me think if it really is one of the personalities, it is Wyatt. Especially as Dolores seems far too thoughtful at the moment to just be Wyatt. At the same time she'd retain her memories of being Wyatt, and thus still be able to use it.

Also the line about being reminded who they are. I guess that makes sense with a "innocent" young Wyatt, but also perhaps William as well. And she was the last person we saw near his profile card last season.
