The Dark Knight Rises Bane

I think Nolan's Bane will be alot different from the comics. I think he will be muscular, but not overly muscular. And he doesnt necessarily have to wear a wrestlers mask.

Just look at nolans interpretation of scarecrow. He wasnt anything like he was in the comics. So, I wouldnt advise people to expect a hulkish brute, with a cheesy mask on

Scarecrow's mask was pretty accurate to the comics and Murphy was still thin enough!.....I think there's still a pretty decent chance of Bane having a black&blue or red wrestling mask with black jeans and a tank top(at least for a fight scene perhaps!?)and some big muscles.

His character though is another thing!

"Bane" is unrealistic? Do people realise it's an actual word? It's an adjective.

I see no reason why Nolan can't come up with a one sentence explanation of where "Bane" came from. Even a simple declaration "I am the bane of Gotham City" would do...

I know.

At the bar I worked at we had a bouncer named: "Murder".

People called him Murder, the boss called him Murder. That was the gang name he got when he was young, and that was what he went by....

Bane should be easier to accept.

I probably said it wrong,I meant all thin&bones!

God, I can't wait to see my third favorite Batman villain get justice. I think Nolan was drawn to Bane the same reason that I am, he's not the stereotypical big brawler villain.

This mask would be great

Can't wait to see Bane in action! Especially, a Chris Nolan Bane!

Bane will be almost nothing like he is in the comics. all his stories in the comics will not influence his character in TDKR. He will be very smart, and still very strong, but not abnormally strong. The only thing thats bothering me is his name. I mean the guys name is bane. In a film grounded in reality its hard to imagine taking a guy named bane seriously. But im confident in Nolan and his decisions. Im sure Tom Hardy is going to be excellent regardless. Here's to cinemas greatest trilogy to date!
Jesus Christ, is this a superhero movie or not?

I am delighted to be working with Tom again and excited to watch him bring to life our new interpretation of one of Batman’s most formidable enemies.
So in other words, no Venom although if they wanted to be realistic about it, they could switch it with PCP.

I'd prefer Bane to have an actual mask made from some sort of fabric as opposed to wearing a hard facemask or helmet. Besides personal preference, I just don't feel as though he needs the extra protection a helmet provides...he's Bane.

If they could find a way to fashion a Lucha mask for Bane that doesn't look goofy and has a closed mouth area, I'm all for it. I'm not a huge fan of the exposed mouth area and I hated it in TAS. I even hated when they gave Kick-Ass an open mouth mask. Anyway, I think it's important that the mask itself doesn't look brand spanking new. It should have a lot of wear to it and appear well traveled as if Bane has put in years with it.

I wouldn't even be mad if he wore a basic balaclava mask or ski mask and customized it himself like some soldiers do. Maybe he paints/draws/airbrushes it, maybe not. Give it a kind of gritty makeshift quality.

It obviously doesn't have to use a skull/ghost motif, but there is a certain intimidation factor there. Just bouncing ideas.

I wonder if he'll use some other substance, Batman underestimates him, gets beaten up and Bane ultimately Breaks his Back.
