The Dark Knight Rises Bane

I think Bane and Strange together would be too much.

They're both villains capable of taking Bruce to the edge, both great at pushing his buttons.

I just don't want Bane relegated to "the muscle." I fear that, if he and Strange worked together, Strange would be the brains and Bane would be the brawn.

The great thing about Bane is that he is the brains AND the brawn in one package.

If I were to use Bane or Strange, I would pair them with a purely physical "henchman" type - Deadshot or Firefly, perhaps.

This is a fair point. Bane might work better alongside Catwoman, as she's a less overt threat on both fronts.

I saw a design a while ago on deviantart that had that same sense of practicality.

I think it looks like a pretty cool interpretation that could fit right in with Nolan's world.

Oh yeah, I remember that one! But definatly! I've always enjoyed the mercenary like style to him; I wouldn't exactly call him that, but if you were to put him into a reasonable and realistic group, mercenary/terrorist works just fine in my book. :word:

This is a fairly new concept I saw when some cool guy released it in the manip thread awhile back, I believe; at any rate, I like the use of tactical armor for Bane instead of the wife-beater and cargo pants ideas. I think maybe his mask should look a little more relative to the original with the full face mask and used more as a helmet/device used for the Venom supplement. But other than that, this is the exact approach I could honestly see Nolan going with this style of Bane, given the opportunity. :woot:

The Penguin was really fun to watch, and I didn't mind their Poison Ivy either. Gave Babs an incentive and kinda felt like a nod to their original creator Infantino being the same guy.

I wasn't a big fan of Clayface though, it was too removed from what was there in the comics. The Animated Series took liberties too but they coalesced all (major) incarnations of the character into one, which was brilliant. The Joker was interesting too, I liked the design. Who else was there? Catwoman was her own sexy self but she came off as annoying at some of the episodes, though I liked the way they wrote Selina Kyle, much better than the activist Kyle who got caught, in my opinion. Dracula was too much though, they should've just went with Ra's Al Ghul.

Really? I thought they were awful. Why was Riddler Marilyn Manson??? :funny:

Yeah, I do. I support anybody who aims for a different design and feel for Batman characters; it keeps them alive and able to reach to new viewers into becoming fans. And I liked the Manson look; if you don't like it, I personally don't care, friend. It's my opinion and everybody has different tastes. :word:

WOW! :wow:

Hathaway as Selina/Catwoman?

Didn't expect her to be the choice, but she must have impressed Nolan otherwise he would not have chosen her! Here is hoping she suprises as Ledger did. I expect her to tone up and hit the gym for the next couple of months.

Hardy as Bane is simply epic and kick ass! :woot:

****ing YES. Bane was my dream villain for this movie.

I. CANNOT. SIT. STILL.

I. AM. 24. YEARS. OLD.

A. NORMAL GUY.

Unexpected on my part, but let's see what Nolan has in store for us!

Tom Hardy is going to be awsome as Bane, a almost perfect casting choice IMO

The news is great, i really didn;t want them to use Hugo Strange or Tali Al Ghul, i am glad they went with the more known batman villains

Can't wait to see Hardy snap Bale's spine like twig. Muhahaha!
OOPS! Spoiler!

Venom will probably be an injected drug that he takes every few hours as opposed to the comically huge tank from certain adaptations.

Didn't think Bane would be in this...This will be amazing, someone's getting their back broken!

I wanted him as Strange, but knowing Nolan, he'll give us the mastermind Bane, so I'm more than fine.

I have always loved the Mastermind version of Bane, much more worthy of being Batman's adversary than some petty thug.

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHH

tis my input
