Don't you know? All chemicals are basically the same.

No need to be snarky. The point of the thread is to discuss how Nolan, with the approach that he's described to the previous two films, would incorporate the source of Bane's strength. Seeing as how he tied Ra's to Scarecrow, the suggestion isn't entirely implausible

Dude got pretty beefy for Bronson.

Damn. I'm sold :awesome:

Dear Joel Schumacher, Professor Christopher Nolan is gonna teach you a new course called Bane 201: Getting It Right. Get ready for it.

He "fixed" Two-Face and now he's gonna "fix" Bane. The two biggest injustices done to Batman movies made right.

First off, there's always a need to be snarky, my good man.

Second, the tie between Scarecrow and Ra's was that Ra's was funding Crane so Crane can make more of the hallucinogen that he designed on his own.

Third, a hallucinogenic gas that causes an extreme enough fear response that it can lead to cardiac arrest is highly different from a muscle-enhancing compound that's likely a liquid that's administered intravenously and can (presumably) drive someone to addiction and psychological instability are VASTLY different, and flat out have to be from a scientific standpoint.

I can see Venom being used as an extreme super steroid that he'll inject himself with through the film.

I do hope we get a look as close to the comics as possible, costume wise.

Think he'll be Ra's successor in lieu of Bruce?

Venom doesn't have to be just a steroid either. It could also be a drug that just gives him boundless, almost insane, energy, as some drugs tend to do.

Unless of course you count Batman himself being an injustice in the filmverse until Nolan. But yeah, I agree.

True, but again, that's vastly different from Fear Gas.

I don't even think they have to go into the backstory of why Bane is so massive (similar to The Joker).

I feel the need to call upon the comic book fans to refer me to some of Bane's best comics.

I have read quite a few, mostly just the famous graphic novels, but never was especially impressed with Bane.

So, what do I read?

Fair enough.

so long as they don't touch "Veritas Liberat", I'm ok :yay:

Correct me if I'm wrong, but in the comics, Bane is usually portrayed as being very intelligent. Only in "B&R" and other media adaptations is he seen as mindless. For some reason, I see Nolan going the intelligent route

So, I said it in another thread but I really want to call upon the fans of bane to show me some required reading on the character.

Come on fans, what do I read?

Venom will probably be like insulin if they use it at all. I'm guessing he'll have been named as Ra's successor in lieu of Bruce's turning it down.

As I mention in the other thread, I don't think BANE is a villain on his own. I still think Hugo strange will be in this film or Black Mask because BANE is work for hire. Strange would be suppling the venom or BLack Mask would be buying the Venom if it is used at all.

He twice fought alongside Batman, once during a period in which he was believed to have Thomas Wayne as his biological father.

While imprisoned, he became somewhat scholarly within the prison's limitations.

Well, a lethal Batman is nothing compared to a jackass, multi-flippin' Two-Face or a ******ed, word-repeatin' Bane. Even Schwarzenegger's Freeze at least resembles the core of the character he was playing.
