Its happening mostly in the community it seems. Posts are just getting deleted with no warning, word, or notice. They just disappear. Poof. Gone. I prolly wouldnt notice either if I wasnt on here nearly 10 hours a day.



Well that used to be the mods approach. Allow the thread to moderate itself. We might go off topic for a page (which is completely harmless and normal for a conversation to do), but we always got back on topic, and if something awful or foul was posted it got reported.

Well, I see frequently in the Gal Gadot is WW thread that it doesn't just go off topic for a page but several pages, and it goes off topic every day because people are constantly insisting on talking about everyone and everything else but Gal Gadot or WW.

Because of the several warnings about going off topic, fighting, etc....IN THAT THREAD.


The off topic comments were leading to fights, which is why the warning was given.

Well, I see frequently in the Gal Gadot is WW thread that it doesn't just go off topic for a page but several pages, and it goes off topic every day because people are constantly insisting on talking about everyone and everything else but Gal Gadot or WW.

Threads like that have to be heavily moderated because those sections draw in the crazies and lots of emotions. And warnings tend to be ineffectual. You have to firmly lay down the law in there otherwise the place will go nuclear. But threads like Describe a Member with a Gif and this thread doesnt need the type of mod activity it has been seeing. A few off topic posts and pointless chatter doesnt hurt anyone and isnt inappropriate or vulgar so I dont really understand the reason for taking the time and effort to delete posts in them that arent inappropriate.

Goig off topic isnt always detrimental to the topic is all Im sayin. And a little more discretion from the mods, like it used to be, would be much appreciated.

There's a difference between going off topics for several pages because fighting among others and going off topic for 5, 6 posts in more relaxed threads like this thread and other community threads.

Replies to JustABill coming back and talking about how much that Gif posted in Describe a Hypester with a Gif thread was like him and posters getting excited that he came back, and JJJ and I talking about my user title when he thought I was banned in the Banned Users thread. It's nothing hugely substantial, but that's why it's becoming rather bothersome that posts that are not even against the rules are getting deleted.

And those are only two recent examples that I remember off the top of my head.

Pretty much. I would not be surprised though if the posters who are going off topic get banned after racking up so many infractions, and are unaware that you can be perma-banned for having a certain amount of infractions.

We let them know that they are getting close to a perma ban because of number of infractions.
