The Dark Knight Bat Sonar: Love it or Hate it?

I liked how the technology wasn't exactly flawless, at least on the lenses end of it. It clearly worked but was also a hinderance. I need night vision and infra red though. It was also be cool for the lenses to somehow "focus" or something, giving the impression of the glowing eyes as narrowing.

I was more bothered by how they used "A Dog Chasing Cars" for this scene instead of a chase scene.

I agree! When I watched the movie I was so pumped waiting to hear that song play while watching Batman on the Batpod, but I never heard it. I know the song was played in the movie but to be quite honest, it was the only song I could not hear!! :csad:

Oh and btw, I loved the sonar lenses. I thought it was innovative and pretty sweet! JMHO.

Yes.

I liked it in the context of the film, but wouldn't want to see it again unless it was used very sparingly. It was a bit too Daredevil for me.

Yes.

Yea the Sonar lenses were not all that great, and should have been used for less of the time it was used which at least showed why those wouldn't work on a regular basis. It caused problems for Bruce against The Joker. I liked how they insured how it was only crucial for Finding the Joker, and whatever else in the building.

It was better than Forever and at least Nolan didn't forget that it is a BATMAN movie and not just a crime epic.

Another Prob for them to me is the size of the things...like spideys goggles...lol, but hey not everything has to be perfect.

Yes.

I actually thought it was a pretty cool little gimmick to be used once and never touched on again.

Yes!

It was a decent idea, but could have been implemented in a better way.

Yes!

meh on the sonar.

Love that it's gone now and will never be used again.

Yes!

The device was cool. But about the white lenses..... Bale's eyes are much more scary and menacing.

It was a great idea but it came off as a video game with Morgan Freeman playing Morgan Freeman narrating. Bad guys to your left, boom, now on the next floor, bang, Joker is on the 3rd floor, pow. When all Batman had to do was tell Gordon that the hostages were in the clown masks or even tell a soldier so he can tell everyone...instead he beat up the good guys.

I loved the idea; but, I wasn't too keen on the execution. Let me first say that te "worst" parts of this film are better than the best parts of most films.

The Sonar thing was really cool in Hong Kong; but, when it was overblown in Gotham I wasn't into it that much. I DID like the Ethical question of should he be doing this; I thought that was cool; but, it wasn't in it much and Fox gave in very quickly (which was probably in the best interest of a 2 and a half hour film) I just thought it was trying too hard to be too cool. It was alright; I just thought it went on kind of long

I agree:o

It was just the white lenses that bothered me. They looked so stupid on batman, they should of atleast made him half-way cool looking

I thought the lenses were fine...made him look menacing.

I loved it. It worked for this film period, imo.

Considering it's the only time we'll ever see it(since the machine tv thingies are gone, so I'd assume the lenses are out too, right?) I really didn't mind it, I thought it was kinda cool. I liked it,I just wouldn't want to see it again.

I liked it.

It was a great nod to Batman's white eyes in the comics.

I can see the technology brought down to the Batcave once it's finished. With Alfred doing the navigation instead of Fox. But instead of the crazy lens thing, I would prefer Batman get information verbally through Alfred.

I'm not saying that's how it will happen...nor am I saying it's the ethical thing to do...but I can see the Batcave with all those monitors, orchestrated by Alfred and Batman.

I love the idea of it, the biggest letdown in the film for me was the execution of it. It was way too sci-fi and it felt like a video game, the way it panned everywhere.

Still love the movie, but it would have been much more effective if it was simpler.

It wasn't used for to long or to little, it served its purpose and was taking out.

I thought it took the film to another, unexpected, level. I was surprised becuase of how unrealistic it was for Nolan, but it worked for me. And it blew me away in IMAX.
