Batman: Arkham Origins - Part 2

Conroy has never bad-mouthed a fellow actor in the role of Batman... He has always been highly respectful and complimentary.

He said he didn't like Bale's choices with his Bat-voice, but ultimately blames Nolan and felt he should have been told to pull it back. Whats wrong that?

It's his dignified opinion and one where he's in the majority.

He also always says that he's fine when he's not cast as Batman and he appreciates producers/directors desires to try something new and fresh.

I thought he sounded stunning in The Flashpoint Paradox...

Hamill had the right idea to leave the party. Fanboys turn far too quickly.

I agree, he sounded stunningly bad. Like I said, i've never been that fond of Conroy (maybe because I grew up with the french voice of Batman, and that actor was amazing) in the first place, so it's more a matter of still feeling the same, instead of turning...
Note that I never said I hated Conroy or anything like that. When I say he is bad in Flashpoint, i'm talking about his performance of course. I've never said anything about the man himself, since I don't know him.

I like how not being in the majority make us haters though.

I welcome Mad Hatter's addition to AO. Each game has had a trippy sequence, so this continues the trend. An Arkham inspired Wonderland. Surrealism on a grand scale.

yeah, his side quest in AC was really great, if a bit too short. This is great news. I can't wait to play this game!

To each his own...

Well, If it wasn't for Conroy's casting that French guy probably wouldn't have gotten the job. :oldrazz:

Is the French guy not still dubbing for Conroy?

Anyone know who this might be? Found here: http://www.behance.net/gallery/Batman-Arkham-Origins/9987469

The rumoured girlfriend of Black Mask perhaps?

Conroy was at his best as Batman during the early years of BTAS. His voice was more gravely and had a darker, more menacing edge. Now, he just sounds like any other conventional square-jawed superhero. Bale's voice was a problem because it was uneven and inconsistent, but he was definitely on the right track. So yeah, it was not exactly smart of Conroy to take that shot.

I disagree... His work on Justice League/JLU was fantastic.

His work in ''Epilogue'' blew me away.

I wouldn't know, but if it was anything like his lackluster performances in the Arkham games, then I stand by my assessment.

Even bored Conroy is better than the Bat growl (and I say that as somebody who likes those movies). There's a reason it is almost universally parodied and spoofed and that's because its totally silly.

I agree that the Arkham series hasn't been his best work, but when your saying lines like...

''Tell me everything you know about the Riddler... night, night''

''Freeze is in the GCPD building. I have to get to him now!''

Batman: You're finished, Cobblepot.
The Penguin: No! I'm sorry. Please don't hurt me.
Batman: I can't guarantee that. :whatever:

... you wouldn't be throwing heart and soul into it either. More often than not he was nothing more than an exposition device in the Arkham games.

Check out Justice League for sure. He was still doing great work there.

I think people have a hard time hearing Conroy in the games because his voice isn't coming out of a Bruce Timm model.

I thought he sounded great delivering those lines. In fact he generally sounded angry in his exchanges with Penguin.

Black Mask playable dlc pre order at Gamestop

I saw.

Why Black Mask? I don't see how his gameplay could be unique. Not to mention the lack of skins is inexcusable. They could have thrown in his "old school" and "Under the Red Hood" designs as skins, for one.

I would have preferred another assassin, like Bane or Copperhead.

Indeed, plus I agree with the Bale/Nolan stuff.

My problem with the Conroy thing is just that people seem to think it's him or nothing... I don't think one actor should have the monopoly on any character. I mean, I've grown so used to Steve Blum ALWAYS playing Wolverine, I'd be thrilled to hear someone else play him. Not because I don't like Steve Blum but because I've grown so used to that version, it's time for a refresh.

Younger Batman is the perfect opportunity to try out another voice actor. And I agree about Conroy in Arkham City. I love the way he sounds urgent but there was a total lack of emotion in his voice at key times that sounded odd... Like when he tells Alfred that Strange knows Bruce Wayne is Batman, he doesn't sound panicked or ANYTHING. Just matter of fact. It sounds odd at times. I don't think that would work for a younger, inexperienced Batman.

Nice I guess Troy Baker will reprise his role and voice
Harvey Dent
That would be amazing. I also hope Riddler is in the game in some raw fashion.

It does seem to me Black Mask is offering a massive amount of cash to kill Batman as a diversion. If the assassins fail (we know they do, but this is irrelevant), he won’t have to pay anyone. Some other plan has got to be going down in the meantime.

Since Troy is already Joker, I wouldn't be surprised if someone else played Dent.

That would be very unnecessary. They had Maurice LaMarche double in for Mr. Freeze and Calendar Man, Nolan North for Penguin and Black Mask, etc.

Not to mention his Joker and Two-Face sound nothing alike.

I've never heard his Joker before. When did he play Joker?
