Batman: Arkham Origins - Part 6

Why can't we have a GTAV size Batman game, where Bruce can change into the suit and drive bat vehicles around? These Arkham games are mic and all but they're like 1/10th of the size/story/etc.

It's a bit disappointing we haven't got a Batman game of that size yet, but there is always the 4th game. I'm expecting that one to be the grand daddy of them all in terms of size.

I'm not sure WB and DC will ever allow players to run over civilians in a Batman game (that isn't a lego based one) so I assume any vehicle use would be limited.

lol I don't think that's what they are litterally saying here. W hat they want is to just want to be driving around in the bat mobile when the public on the streets bein attacked or robbed and save them like what happened in Batman Returns .

The problem is though the formula that Rock steady made with the arkham titles prior/ so far and how much they want to stick to that formula .

I can see them adding driving. like a chase scene play through. but if you want batman Ala GTA it's gonna be a different Game. and it's also about have dev's that know how to create an environment game wise for that.

I mention that latter part alot. If a dev team doesn't have Experience in a certain area they shouldn't try it until they pick up some one that knows how to make it. other it'll be a disaster.

Because that's not really necessary for a good game. I think it would be neat to be able to pilot some vehicles but having this massive GTA type world isn't needed.

As I just said the most they can do is have him drive to certain locations and do what he usually does in doors and to have a interactive chase scene with the bat mobile.

That's pretty much it. I'm sure batman rather not have civilians around collateral damage wise. and he'll just tell them to run and hide if he is ever forced to save them in that sort of a situation, If he's on the streets fighting thugs and the rest I mean. Once he saves them they better find cover.

Other wise he'd avoid crowds all together himself.

I think with the complaints that this was basically a carbon copy of "City" but with a different story will make the studio change things up a bit, I would really like to see a sandbox open world for Batman.

I don't know most people seem to confuse open world for sand box.


the original meaning of of both was

Open World = Premade world that you can explore.
Sandbox = Create your own world and destroy it.
Well that's mostly the gist of it originally . Like any genre, there is an overlap.



or I should say there's always some one that twists the meaning of words and other people fallow that train of thought.

I just want more options,Doesn't have to be like GTA but I want to do more than just side missions and beat up cops&thugs in free roam,Things like go into certain areas and do activities/Use the Bat Computer at the cave for more than story requirements/Train as Bruce and even do activities or mini games or actual side missions as Bruce.

And yeah at least driving the Bat Boat or flying the plane would be nice as an extra traveling option,The Bat Mobile could be drive able at least in a mission where you do a chase with no pedestrians near by

it depends on what you mean by activities ? the only other thing I can think of is he can do is under cover work. O r if he had night wing and the others with him he can deliberate certain missions for them to do for him to help him on his case's ala person of interest.

Now as to training as bruce you'll get your wish in a way due to the "initiation DLc" as a skin of bruce in ninja mode w be available to us you can use that training room in the bat cave with that. as for bat computer that's crime case specific. and I think the reason so far on why bats does all his detective stuff in the field via detective vision is cause as what's been seen with video games of CSI and the like they seem to bore certain types of gamers have to actually do lab work or something like that. you their the impatient people.


We'll see, may be they'll try some thing more with that and make it exciting . chase's with the vehicles are doable.

I wish the console games would officially let you do things like Deathstroke, Robin, and Nightwing in free roam, just to have fun with it like the PC versions. Though I know you have to upload special codes in order for that to work.

So what is everyone's full wish list for the next game,For me..

-Sequel to Arkham City
-Story taking place longer than one night
-Joker actually being dead
-References to the other games including Origins
-All gadgets from all three games plus new ones
-Crime scene investigation from Origins returning
-Bruce Wayne side missions and training
-Free roam and story co op
-Free roam as other characters like Nightwing
-More to do in the Bat Cave
-More to do in Free Roam
-Driving vehicles at least in chases in story or side missions
-No more Riddler data pads or trophies,Do unlockables in a different and new way
-All skins from AC&AO unlocked by default in the Bat Chamber with more new ones to buy or unlock
-Better online servers and more than one online mode

They really need to tie up all the loose ends and address the big questions that Arkham City presented.

- Conflict with Hush and his capture.

- the Order of St. Dumas and their warning to Batman that Gotham will burn.

- Batman withdrawing and falling into depression and drawing away from his allies needs to be dealt with. Batman also coming to terms to what happened to The Joker and Talia as well.

- I want the fighting of City, but the improved double counter attacks and detection of Origins. That was the one thing Origins did better with the combat, it detected when two enemies were about to attack you at the same time better so you could actually execute the double counter move. In City, you will execute it but only do it on one guy instead of two and you end up getting hit anyway.

- I want a full, modern Batcave. So I want to be able to visit the Batcave like this game, but the fully decked out, finished version not unlike what we saw in the City challenge maps.

- Figure out how to use vehicles

- I would like to see online co-op play for the challenge maps, maybe for the combat ones it would work best.

- I would like an ending that is a bit more final and less abrupt.

- A skin of Burton/Keaton Batman would be nice. We've gotten Nolan Bats and West Bats, but no Burton Bats.

Awesome trailer! Is that Lady Shiva?

My wishlist for the Rocksteady Sequel:
- Takes place a few years (not just a year) from Arkham City.
- Harder but more determined Batman, not a sociopath or anything, just more colder, but not an moron who is hurting Alfred and Nightwing with rantings or anything, just a more tired man who is on the mission.
- Order of Saint Dumas. Azrael-like crusader knights.
- Replace Titans with Man-Bats. :b Preferrebly Man-Bat Ninjas, because Man-Bat Ninjas are awesome:

- Interaction with Question, Green Arrow, Black Canary
- Oracle as Batman's guide, let's not take away Oracle's role simply because Alfred is the more pop culture known guy.
- Less over the top Riddler challanges
- Bruce Wayne subplot with Hush
- Legacy as a defining theme, since Joker has died and Batman's being older, what will the next generation of Gotham truly be?
