Batman/Bruce Wayne Casting Thread - Part 2

For me, since Jake isn't wanting to do it; then go with Tom Cullen or some other unknown.

Everyone else posted so far is either too old (late 30's or mid 40's) or simply never been a leading man (Matthew Bomer is a solid actor but he isn't getting the role or even that of a villain. Same with Jensen Ackles.

Not even Gyllenhaal is interested so it is time to move on from that

I honestly like Affleck but if he really is leaving the role personally I would go for Bradley Cooper he can play arrogant Bruce Wayne he can play the thoughtful Bruce Wayne and he apparently lost green lantern because he kept doing Bale’s Batman voice so possibly he can pull off Batman...

Still I wish Affleck had one solo Batman film

Unless Jake is just playing the denial game until it's officially announced.

He's got a lot on his plate. The Division for one. And he's been announced in 3 new films (over the last 2 months).

He'd be great as a Batman villain. Maybe the Riddler perhaps?

Yeah the number of announcements with him attached makes me think chances of him playing Batman are pretty low at this point.

Exactly which makes me think DC should cast someone else entirely so they can all shut up about it

Hopefully casting news comes soon. Once we hit SDCC time, it will have been a year since the Hollywood Reporter came out with their infamous article saying Ben was out!

Should have been Hamm for the older Wayne from the get-go. Now, it's useless. Go younger (not too young though) and forget what happened.

Then I would go with someone mid to late 30s at least

I never thought or hoped Bale would come back, i just stated how i wished it had panned out that he took a break after the trilogy, then came back for this new universe, to tie it in - was just wishful thinking.

Part of me wants Affleck to continue, but it needs to be a damn good movie to erase JL from my mind - his portrayal in BvS was great to me.

Thing is, i like WW and Superman, there is already an Aquaman movie and Shazam in the works. So move forward with a WW sequel which is set in the 80's, a GL movie that could be in any decade as it is based in space. Then as i have said previously, a MOS2 which is set months after MOS - then hopefully AM is stand alone, so reason for this, these 3 movies are all before BvS and therefore, stand alone.
Shazam, AM well received. WW and MOS do great, GL too.

Then dust off the cowl and have a decent stand alone Batman movie where it's almost a heist movie involving arkham - either Bruce is breaking in or out, stuck in there not too sure.

Then we have a point where BvS happens and JL in the time line, but we can take it up to a year later and carry on with Solo's - then we can Flashpoint it as a cool way to reboot the series. That way we have a trilogy of WW's all set before BvS, MOS1& 2 before BvS then MOS3 after JL. GL1 & 2 spread out over time and stand alone. You get the picture.

Yup, time to think about the future and longevity of the next iteration of the character

No more 40 year olds to kick off a universe.

Yep, that’s the logical thing to do.

So, knowing WB, they’ll probably do the opposite and double down on this stupid “old and weary” Batman concept. Get ready for a Medicare eligible Bruce Wayne!

Erm, "older weary Batman" hardly started with the DCEU, champ.

10- Luke Evans
9- Justin Theroux
8- Richard Armitage
7- Armie Hammer
6- Michael Fassbender
5- Karl Urban
4- Ryan Gosling
3- Clive Owen
2- Oscar Isaac
1- Jon Hamm

Armitage is still a pretty interesting idea for me, sort of doubt they'd do it though.
