Why use Hal at all? How about Stewart or Baz?

Well, that's a different topic. For me personally, I couldn't really care less about either of those characters. But obviously, they could use them if they wanted and it might work.

Jake's in LA filming another film with Dan Gilroy.

And he's few others in the pipeline.

Taylor Kitsch is another name that they have been throwing around as far as replacements for Affleck go

Also Joaquin Phoenix is another one that I have been hearing lately

I would even go Fassbender as well or Armie Hammer

However, if Gyllenhaal passes on the role then Gosling would be my 2nd choice for Bruce Wayne/Batman in the DCEU

Isn't Gosling also notorious for doing roles that won't be franchised?

Christian Bale would be a good Batman. I always liked that guy. He was good in Reign of Fire.

Same. Either of them would be fantastic.

Kitsch won't be playing Bruce Wayne.

Fassbender won't be playing Bruce Wayne. I imagine he's bored after playing a comic book hero in 4 films.

Hammer won't be playing Bruce Wayne. A decent actor, but he's just not the guy.

Honestly it's Gyllenhaal or Gosling. Or go with a relative unknown.

Preach!

Eric Bana could be interesting.

If only he was cast 5 years ago :sly:

Is there any more news on whether Affleck may continue going with the film or not? Cause I haven't read that he's been in cast in any new films and his last directorial film flopped huge. He needs Batman more than Batman needs him.

Either way the ball is in Matt Reeves's court and we'll apparently know officially next year or maybe even later this year.

We ain’t getting news until late July at the earliest. The next 4 months will be a total drag...

Good god almighty what was he thinking

All he needs now is “Damaged” tattooed on his forehead

Eric Bana is also another choice but I feel like he is too old now for the role because if this were like 5 years ago back when the DCEU first started he would have been perfect

No we definitely need a younger Batman especially one who could have his own solo franchise

Which is why you target actors in their 20s going into their 30s

The last thing I want is a tweener to play Batman. I would rather Batman be in his 40's for the foreseeable future.

He doesn't actually have to be in the full suit just as he doesn't have to do the stunts himself.
Not getting the whole age dilemma especially for just middle aged actors.

I mean if you want a trilogy or however many films with a new Batman then you have to go younger I mean it is the only way considering Affleck is already 45

Not if the supposed approach is more detective noir compared to previous iterations.
