Christopher Nolan should play Batman, Directed by Oscar Isaac.
:applaud

You blew your cover M.Night. Shouldn't you be busy working on Mr. Glass?
The twist, how did I not see it?

You know who would be an EXCELLENT Gordon?

Oscar Isaac.
Oscar Isaac as every male character including Bruce Wayne, but he's never Batman, that's exclusive to the stunt doubles, including Roxie Rocket.

You know who just struck me as a decent choice for a rebooted Gordon?

This just-starting-to-look-his-age mother****er...

Pitt really seems to be channeling Peter Fonda with his look here.

It's kind of crazy to think that Pitt, at this point, is almost a decade older than Oldman would've been during Begins.

All this talk of age got me to thinking. The best actors working today (at least the ones who are known quantities) are getting up there. That's fine, though. Reeve's Bruce doesn't have to be a novice. I'd much prefer seeing the character in his prime anyway. Likewise, an older actor in reasonably good shape, one who can pass for younger, should suffice.

Who do you recommend?

Given that Batman has no real superpowers beyond his natural strength, vast intellect and polymathic prowess, I feel that anyone who portrays him should be willing and able to put in the physical work required so as to better look the part. As far as acting chops go, he need not be an A-lister, but I definitely want someone with the kind of range that allows for exploring the gamut of human emotion.

I'm partial to Jon Hamm and Wes Bentley. Sadly, the former's a little too old at this point. Bentley, on the other hand, is still a serious contender. The guy's got range, and he looks even more like Bruce Wayne now that he's put on some muscle.

Here he is on the set of Yellowstone. It's a new western series apparently.

He has the looks right. Time to remember him as another character in a failed Marvel movie from the same director as Daredevil.

I keep forgetting about Bentley. He belongs in the conversation for sure.

-He's black-haired and blue-eyed.
-He's 5'11", so in the suit he'd clear 6'0" easily.
-He's 39 years old, and has aged considerably well. You could get 10 years out of him and he'd still come in under 50 years old by the time he finishes up in the role.
-He's not exactly a "household" name that comes with a ton of baggage.
-He's a talented actor to boot.

And he comes with the Christopher Nolan stamp of approval (for whatever that's worth).

I've always been torn on Bentley whenever his name comes up. He's a good actor, he's got the right look, he's okay height-wise (if it even matters), and he's a good age for the role. And it's been long enough since Ghost Rider that the stink of that film has washed off of him. But something about him playing Batman just doesn't click with me. I can't put a finger on why. But he'd be better than a lot of names getting thrown around, that's for sure. Easily better than boring old Ben Affleck. God, Justice League was on HBO the other day and I found myself watching parts of it for some reason. Ben really is terrible.

Couldn't find a gif for the "He really is tall" moment.

Can’t comment on his acting, but Bentley looks like a perpetually angry Christian Bale.

"WHERE'S THE TRIGGEEHH? YOU'D NEVER GIVE IT TO AN ORDINARY CITIZEN. WHERE IS IIIT?"

Why did I imagine this line coming out of his mouth?

I'm a little weird on Bentley in terms of the "having the right look" thing. He totally does, theoretically, like on paper it's all there. Everything about the dude just screams "bad guy" to me though, haha.

Black Mask, hell yeah. Don't know I'd want him as Bruce though.

I can see it :hmm
I’d be happy with that.

Bentley is the obvious Gyllenhaal substitute.

Similarly, if not Brad Pitt, maybe Ethan Hawke as Gordon?

I could really get on board with Hawke-Gordon, if they're indeed going young for Bats.

He has the looks in this picture, but I don't imagine his voice as an ideal choice for how Commissioner James Gordon should sound like.

I'm saying that I don't like the idea in my preconceived notion.

I like the idea of Hawke as Gordon. That could really work.

I don't want Bentley to play Black Mask though because that would mean actually having to suffer through seeing Black Mask in a movie.

Bring back the Hunger Games beard.
