C’mon, it’s almost the bat-logo.

I don't want Bentley to play Black Mask though because that would mean actually having to suffer through seeing Black Mask in a movie.
It's fun to see him scared $#%^less by Red Hood and nearly burnt to a crisp by Jason Todd Joker.

It's also great to see his face shot by the angry [BLACKOUT]Mrs. Batman[/BLACKOUT].

I genuinely do not understand the passion behind that character.

This is an interview from last year where Bentley briefly discusses Batman at the 20:18 mark. Larry King apparently endorses him as well.

Me neither. I think people just want to see him because he's one of Batman's (somewhat) more well-known villains that we've never seen on film. But I always found him pretty lame. He was annoying as hell in that stupid "War Games" arc. I hated that story so much that it pretty much made me give up on comics.

Okay, you convinced me. Black Mask should only appear in a movie if he gets beat up, burned alive and shot in the face. :woot:

I don't know anything about his acting ability, but as far as the looks go, he's by far the best we've probably seen in here.

But again, I know nothing about his acting.

I've always been supportive of Bentley in the role. One of my favorites of names that's popped up.

He's a talented guy. He never really caught on for whatever reason but I wager he'd be very good in the role.

His only knock is that he has a rather youthful voice despite his age. He's a lot like Gyllenhaal in that regard.

I think he never caught on because he went through a bad drug problem that made him unreliable. That was a long time ago and he's slowly built himself a steady career back since.

Oh, now it all makes sense. Bentley was supposed to be the next big thing at one point. Of course movies like The Four Feathers didn't help his career either.

I still would pick Theo James over him.

He's the guy forced to commit Hara-Kiri by berries in the Hunger Games, he's also the brother of Karl Urban in Pete's Dragon (2016).

Best known as Barry from Knight of Cups :o

Yeah, there are quite a few posters here with high stands standards for these films who adamantly stand by Black Mask, never got it. Is it because he’s easy to bring to life in live action?

He’s a gangster with a mask he can’t take off, what else am I missing here?

The Joker can be reduced to a guy with a clown fetish. I believe the common refrain is that Black Mask is a dark mirror to Batman. Who Bruce could have been.

Who "adamantly" stands by Black Mask? I see people give choices for a ton of different characters in the Batman universe, which is where Black Mask resides. I see a lot of Penguin and Riddler picks too, and I wouldn't even call people being "adamant" about those characters.

That describes every billionaire in Gotham City who is not Bruce Wayne.

I'll take the adamantly part back, but I was just never crazy about the character and I always see him being suggested. Are they any particular comic runs or something in another medium that might change my mind? I know he was advertised as the big bad in Arkham Origins, but he turned out to be a big jobber instead.
