Richard Armitage confirmed he auditioned for Batman and was on the shortlist of six actors to land the role before Affleck eventual got it.

He is too old for the role now. He would make a good Black Mask though

I think he found his niche playing villains and shady scumbag types like he does in Westworld, The Punisher and Dorian Grey.

If Bomer was picked, you wouldn't be able to tell between him and Cavill as to who was Clark and who was Bruce.

Not enough age gap between Gylenhaal & Taylor Johnson for that to work, even though individually, they are solid picks, IMO.
