Only one I liked is Kebbel and maybe Jack O'Connell

Yeah, Kebbel is okay. I don't mind the idea of Joe Dempsie but I have trouble seeing it. O'Connell I see more as Nightwing.

But some of these other names...

Lucas Hedges looks like he's 12 years old. O.T. Fagbenle occasionally lacks the intensity to play his character convincingly on The Handmaid's Tale; no way could I see him playing Batman. And Edsel Anglort? No thanks.

Kebbel's not bad, but if Reeves is considering actors in their late thirties, there are better choices out there. O'Connell's only 5'8", and that's frankly just too short for a character like Batman (camera tricks or not).

Hammer's already been discussed. I guess I can see him as Batman if he can manage to bring a little edge to the role.

As for Hedges and the others...

Yikes, that was a bad list. Aside from Hammer, who I'd be cool with but don't love the idea, none of those sounded even half decent. The worst was the one from Three Billboards. Definitely good actor but nothing about him gave off a vibe of Bruce Wayne or Batman.

O'Connell might be an okay contender for an MCU Wolverine though (with dyed hair), he looked pretty runty.

Lucas Hedges has to be one of the worst and funniest casting candidates for Batman I've seen in a long, long time. I like the kid fine as an actor, but no physical workout and magical aging could ever convince me of him in that role.

I swear everyone's trying to throw everything at the wall hoping they'll nail the next "Heath Ledger" curveball casting.

Yeah, ATJ wouldn't be my first choice (obviously), but I'll say this – he gave a hell of a performance in Nocturnal Animals.

As far as Hughes' list goes, I actually agree with him on his Number One pick: Jack O'Connell would make a great Batman. I don't care that he's not particularly tall. Dude's got the look and the intensity as an actor to bring it.

And as for Aaron Taylor-Johnson, I think he could be great too so long as he could deepen his voice a bit. If not, he'd also make for a scary good Joker imo. The clips I saw of him in Nocturnal Animals earlier were ridiculously creepy and intense.

Tom Cullen of Knightfall was the best choice after Jake Gyllenhaal.

I personally would prefer either a complete unknown or a rising star. Someone who hasn't done a superhero film before.

Armie might be an interesting choice if they want someone whose kinda a big name.His recent films seem to indicate he might actually have range as an actor. But he's kinda gigantic. 6'5. Might be a tad distracting. Affleck seemed huge and he was only 6'2.
