What's really exciting about this is that even as we sit here racking our brains trying to think up out-of-the-box choices for Batman, it's still possible (likely, in fact) that Reeves chooses an actor that completely blindsides us. Like even during the "Batman: Intimidation Game" days, Bale was the consensus fan-favorite for the role and we knew his name was being tossed around pretty regularly by the studio. So in that sense his casting wasn't all that surprising in the end.
I suppose this applies to Affleck to a certain degree as well, but it is really cool getting to discuss Batman casting without having any real idea as to what direction they'll go with it
That's fine, but Batman has to be imposing, besides how did he grow in height as he got older?![]()

He has the look

IMHO height is not a big deal. Tom Cruise is shorter than most of his costars. He's not a tall man. You make due in movies.
Riot? Nah
Have ridiculous childish fits and start pointless online petitions to recast? Absolutely. Thats guaranteed.
Pattinson is only like 3 inches shorter than Affleck.
Its not that big of a difference.![]()
He'd have been good if they had cast a new Batman a year ago. It seems he's just not on the shortlist for anything these days.

Hell yes to Madden, hell no to Pattinson. I have nothing against Pattinson, but all anyone will want to talk about will be Twilight. I'd rather forget those movies ever existed (as I'm sure he would too).
Just like everyone was talking about 10 Things I Hate About You when Heath was cast?
Apples and oranges. 10 Things was a popular movie that maybe some people remembered once TDK went into production, but if anything, most of the people who had issues with Ledger's casting were idiots making Brokeback Mountain jokes. Twilight was a phenomenon and had multiple sequels. Even though it's over, it's still very much in the public consciousness and is what everyone thinks of when you mention Pattinson or Kristen Stewart, regardless of how you feel about their entire bodies of work as actors.
Also, 10 Things was a good movie and Ledger was good in it, so that's another key difference.
LOL, no but he can do a much better American accent than Idris "Cast Him As Absolutely Every Character OR ELSE" Elba. That movie was proof.
idris elba has a good american accent
That's all fine, but it's not like they can't find a young tall actor.Who really cares about that though? Personally I want the best actor for the part, not who looks the most like a young Ben Affleck or is another visual 1:1 to a certain comic's take on Bruce Wayne.
I'd say it's a safe bet that we see a fair chunk of retcons and changes with the DCEU Batman and Superman cast in the next several years. No need to stir up further frustration than necessary over why some elements don't quite connect.
I would go with Mel's son...Mel Gibson's son Milo has become quite the actor in Hollywood or he is well on his way to becoming a breakout star and with him being cast as Bruce Wayne/Batman it could be a role that catapults him right into superstardom
The acting gene is definitely there and he looks so much like his old man too but he can definitely act in his own right
Milo is only 28 born in 1990 which would make him about the right age to play Bruce Wayne/Batman especially if you go with a younger Batman too
