Go on. He's kinda unknown-to-rising star. I'd go with him.

Joe Alwyn is at the right age and he is on the up-and-up. He has been doing well lately in "The Favourite" and "Mary Queen of Scots" They were leading man type of roles even if those movies were dominated by women. Looking forward to seeing him in more movies. Looks like he's doing some interesting stuff.

When I offered him up as a suggestion yesterday, I was fully expecting an avalanche of insults hurled my way. 24 hours later and MOST here are accepting of the idea AND he's somehow become the rumored frontrunner to actually get the role. Weird, but welcome.

Never considered Pattinson a bad actor, he just got himself into teen dramas and I can't really shake that impression of him. He probably can do a good work as Bruce Wayne, but I can't say that it's easy to imagine him in the role.

Every news outlet is going to try and get this scoop. Should be a fun few months. Will be interesting to see what names we keep hearing and who we ultimately end up with. I don't think anyone saw Affleck coming.

I can't remember another case of an actor so unanimously hated because of the famous movies he starred in ending up being cast as a famous superhero and it being a success.

Heath Ledger was not in hated movies. Michael Keaton wasn't either.
The only case was Ben Affleck and well...

Yeah but I still feel it's difficult to understate how much hate Twilight actually got.
I mean, it was all over the place and Robert Pattinson was hated alongside the franchise.
I can't remember any precedent of an actor previously leading an EXTREMELY hated franchise turning into a famous superhero.
It'd be interesting but I'd hope it doesn't cause too much trouble.

I'm not crazy about Pattinson either. He lacks gravitas I'd like to see in an actor who plays Bruce Wayne. He reminds me of Cavill. Only better actor.

He’s certainly not perfect, but he’s a contender, given his age, looks and acting ability. I’d still prefer Dan Stevens, but I’d be happy if it were Pattinson.
