Batman/Bruce Wayne Casting Thread - Part 6

While I still suspect Hammer is WB's 1 choice for the part , I could totally see Reeves choice being a name that hasn't been in the mix in terms of rumors and reports.

The question I have is whether or not WB will be willing to take a leap of faith with less of a household name in the part ,or will they hold their guns and insist on a bigger named and actor .

Probably not a popular suggestion but one that just occurred to me as I was watching Star Trek : Discovery - Ethan Peck, who's been doing a great job of playing Spock in that show. I can't see that as being more than a limited role as we know Spock will ultimately end up on the Enterprise and that will be a different show entirely if they even go down that route. He's 33, 6ft tall, has a certain intensity about him and I think has a good look for Bruce Wayne/Batman.

He's the grandson of Gregory Peck and certainly seems to have inherited his 50's era Hollywood looks somewhat.

I mean Armie Hammer isn't really a "name" actor. I would venture that most average joe people may recognize him but not know his name.

Joe Dempsie aka Christian Bale 2.0

As far as Game of Thrones alums go, I actually prefer Dempsie over Madden.

I think Madden need to take the batsuit out of the closet.

It's been quiet.

Very quiet.

Hopefully the calm before the storm!

Reeves did say back in January that casting would begin soon, so I'm inclined to believe there has been SOME movement since then, considering we're almost in May.

Well, I do remember everything being annoyingly quiet in January before we got the release date and confirmation Affleck is out.

Interesting suggestion. I like his look, though I haven’t seen Discovery yet. How does he compare to other Spocks?

I think his performance has been great, but Discovery on a whole is a bit different from the Star Treks that came before it - and his Spock follows that direction also.

He's got a good voice though, quite deep and authoritative - it would work well also for a Bruce Wayne/Batman role. Plus he's openly admitted in an interview that he'd love to play Batman.

Great voice indeed. JJ's one was rather weak.

I'd happily roll the dice on Ethan Peck if Reeves isn't deadset on an actor in his 20's.

He's still one of many babyfaces. He's a babyface even with a huge beard, which is an achievement.

The Spock getup exaggerates the baby-face, imo. Without it, he looks more mature. I’ve liked him on STDisco. Would definitely be willing to give him a shot.

Still, I wouldn't object his casting. If he's a good actor, plus I really like when Batman has epic voice without any modulators or whispering (West, Kilmer, Conroy). Baby face won't be an issue for me. Alternative is some other babyface anyway...

Yeah, I agree, he looks more mature when he's clean shaven. Not sure why they gave Spock a beard, though I think he might have had one at some point in the old show or maybe in the first movie? Either way, it doesn't matter. I could see him as Bruce.

Peck is great in Discovery. Worlds better than Quinto in the reboots.

He could be a good option for Batman, though I feel there’s a good chance he’ll be tied to Star Trek for the foreseeable future.

Michael Keaton-ish Batman vibe.
Totally. I was looking at clips and interviews and thought the same thing. Very interesting actor for the part
