I dig Lowden because he looks like a man even though he's under 30
One of the reasons given for Shazam's lack-luster performance is that Shazam didn't have enough action scenes, now imagine a Batman movie with very little action.
cos it would be like Seven and that is the kind of Batman I want.It didn't bomb but it under-performed partly due to release date set 3 weeks before Avengers Endgame and it also had to compete with likes of Dumbo, Captain Marvel and WB's Llorona..Shazam underperformed?
Odd, it was quite good.
And yes, we need more of a detective batman.
Shazam underperformed?
This, this, and this. Im sure the film will have action, but more of a focus on detective stuff wouldnt make me mad.I can andcos it would be like Seven and that is the kind of Batman I want.
Truth be told, even I'm starting to have doubts that this film comes to fruition. I'm not genuinely worried yet, but the thought has crept into my mind. Even if we assume Reeves didn't start working on the script until the start of 2018, he's had almost a year and a half now. And again, that's assuming he took time off after War. If he actually started working on it right after War came out, then he's had nearly two years. And it feels like he's been "tweaking" this thing since September of last year.
I'm all for giving directors/writers the time they need to perfect their script, but 1.5-2 years definitely raises an eyebrow. Now we're getting murmurs of the studio wanting Reeves to throw more action in there? After two years and however many revisions?
I dunno. This has the stink of "creative differences" all over it. Something's dragging this out, and I don't like it.
It was stupid to put everything on the line for this guy. They should’ve had multiple scripts in the work and chosen the best one.Truth be told, even I'm starting to have doubts that this film comes to fruition. I thought Shazam and Captain Marvel were both lame... Not surprised Shazam underperformed. I love the character, but something just didn’t click with that movie. I thought the humor was very weak, and the story wasn’t engaging, even when they tried to get emotional. I genuinely wanted to love the movie. I was so hyped. Before the movie, i saw a little boy in my theater in a wheelchair and it brought a tear to my eye because that kid finally has a disabled hero to look up to in Freddy. I recognize that objectively there weren’t any massive issues, it just was so damn bland. Zachary Levi didn’t impress me either... I’m shocked to see so many of you enjoyed it. The fact that it was aimed at kids wasn’t the issue either, I can and have enjoyed plenty of family movies.
But then again, the best movie I’ve seen this year has been Under the Silver Lake and that’s gotten very mixed reviews, so what do I know?
I like a combination of classic mobster types like Penguin and hired guns like Deathstroke who can give Bats a real run for his money in the combat stakes. I would definitely be interested in seeing the Court of Owls too.Maybe they need a physical threat in the film beyond "mobster supervillains" like Penguin.
I always loved the idea of Court Of The Owl being the main antagonist. I mean think about about it - I'd have some Robert Langdon style detective work because it's literally going to be Batman v The Illuminati. Plus the Talons would be interesting to see on screen in how they fight.

Should have stuck with Ben. Screw WB.
