I'm not a fan of man-boy Batman candidates.

Even in the graphic novel Year One, Batman looks like an older guy, not a college kid.

And I realize people like Jake Gyllenhaal and Ryan Gosling are older but they look young.

Yeah. Gyllenhaal seems to finally be losing a bit of that "boy" look he's always had, but still seems like a "young" 36.

Never got the Gosling thing, like at all. Acting chops aside, how is that dude remotely right for this? Doesn't have the look, he has the same issues Gyllenhaal does except Gyllenhaal can actually do "scary and intimidating", and he's sort of the big "it" Hollywood guy right about now.

With Jake it's more like...the sticking point with me buying this is I find it hard to believe he'd even want to sign onto a huge franchise thing like this, make the committment long-term. But other than that? Yeah, it's all kinda there. Wish it was someone lesser in name-status than he is, but he'd be a really solid choice.
