BvS Batman casting thread for Man Of Steel 2 - Part 1

Even Bale was a little wooden in Nolan's Batman trilogy I think. Some people make that complaint about Cavill's Superman and Evans' Captain America as well, but I don't think it's such a bad thing to an extent. They're not Tony Stark after all. In a way, they're a lot like soldiers.

That said, the playboy persona of Bruce Wayne shouldn't come off that way at all.

Oh I think Bale was absolutely wooden and a monotone and uncharismatic in the role of Batman. I personally think it was an absolutely awful portrayal but I am pretty sure the majority outweighs this opinion and think he was "objectively" good.

I'm assuming, going by past history, that they are going with someone with some big screen experience, even the new Superman had that. I seriously doubt we get an A-lister though.

Liam absolutely destroyed it in the last season of Spartacus; very much made the role his own and he grew into it with amazing results. He really gave a commanding and captivating performance for the finale, kind of unforgettable if you kept up with the show. I wouldn't describe Liam as wooden, at all. He was quite lively and charismatic. And that voice. Holy hell his voice.

I honestly took about 15-16 epriosdes, that is like 14-15 hours to finally accept him as Spartacus. Maybe he finally became good or I stopped caring but I had a very hard time him.

And he had a horrible physique and very bad screen presence. He was the lead but the least buff guy on that show. He really should have shown more commitment to the role, the guy before him was outstanding.

Sometimes I think it's easier for an actor to play a complex role. There's more to work with. Sometimes Superman can be so simplistic that it's difficult. I thought Cavill did a good job.

And as we are on the topic of wooden, I think Cavill was a bit wooden in both Immortals and Man Of Steel but both of those were done to absolutely insubstantial writing. I mean the poor guy called MOS the best script he had ever read in his life, goes to show the material he had been working with before.

Man if Gosling shows interest in this role he's got it in the sack.

Last year, he was seen watching TDKR in a exhibition for members of the Academy.

I could only see him as a Batman in a movie directed by Nolan or another great director, but not in a film by Zack Snyder, especially if he saw MoS.

Fassbender is already Magneto, and he's also going to be in Assassin's Creed. He won't be Batman.

Michael Fassbender has not signed to do Assassins Creed hes just rumored to play the role,and he has only one commitment to X-Men and that is in Days of Future Past which will be done filming far before Batman/Superman start filming. He has not signed on for any other X-Men film after that or Assassins Creed.
I wouldn´t rule out him yet.

Positive from a majority of those who like Nolan's Batman, which seems to be the majority in general.

I don't even know what my reaction would be and I'm a huge fan of JGL. lol

When I told him about the Superman/Batman project my 18 year old nephew assumed that JGL was going to be Batman.

Forget him as the Joker. Batman would be good. After all isn't he about "all black everything."

It depends to which institution he was committed.

If his Robin-lite character was to become Batman, I'm not sure how I'd feel. I doubt I'd see the movie during its theatre run, but that partly depends on the strength of the Superman elements.

I remember hearing something about that.

I can see him doing it if it was someone like Nolan or Nicolas Winding Refn doing their own closed-off take on Batman. Like 1 or 2 films before passing it off to another filmmaker/actor. No shared universe. No cross-overs for multi-movie contracts.

But I do admit that I have trouble seeing Gosling signing to this with Snyder. I mean, he's probably more likely to sign a 2 to 3 film deal for Star Wars by the company who brought him into the game. Where he doesn't have to hit the gym as hard, doesn't have to dye his hair, or basically do anything. And they start filming later in 2014. Compared to signing a possible 3 to 5 film deal to play a character where he has to get back into the training, be more dynamic, do a cross-over then a team-up then a solo movie or two with everything on his shoulders, while forced to work with multiple directors.

Fassbender and Cavill as Batman & Superman directed by Snyder, who directed Cavill in Man Of Steel AND Fass in 300...???
