The DKR take place in a dystopian disillusioned cynical world, is Batman an old guy fighting in a dystopian world, it's the essence of the comic my thought.

One thing that got me from the comics is that in most cases, Batman beats Superman, which is total BS. But anyway, as for the casting for Batman's casting for Man of Steel 2, I think he should be a young Bruce/ Batman instead of a old Bats. He should be middle aged like mid to late 30's and have a few years under his belt as Batman just so it wouldn't be a retread of the Nolan trilogy with the origin stuff etc. I think Karl Urban would be a good choice honestly.

Personally, I am glad if it is true they are looking for older Batmans. No need to go to crime alley all over again. Established Batman, already knee deep in Batcaves and sidekicks and villains hopefully.

I'm not particularly crazy about any of the rumored guys, though.

Matt Bomer is a fine actor, but simply too pretty looking for Batman. Henry Cavill has a more rugged look than Bomer, we don't need a Bruce that's prettier than Clark.
