The Dark Knight Batman is a loner...

Personally, I hate that line. It's stupid. Sloppy writing on Goyer's part. Even if Rachel would really ask that question--and I sort of doubt it, she'd be more likely to say "Why Gordon?"--I really don't think Batman would answer "I don't have the luxury of friends." I mean, why would he say that? That doesn't convey any useful information, and Batman generally only speaks when he has something useful to say. For my money, he probably wouldn't answer at all: he would ignore the question--because it's stupid and pointless--and continue explaining his instructions to Rachel.

Goyer can tell a story, but sucks hard at dialogue.

Sure he makes mistakes, but I don't see how the dialogue is THAT flawed, apart from Ra's-uh, I mean, Ducard, yeah, Ducard, sounding like Qui-Gon Jinn all the time, or however you spell it.
