The Dark Knight Batman is a loner...

I guess I just prefer the good ol' sex romp that unexpectedly leads to a newborn:

What's wrong with Bats just banging her? They gotta have explanations and crap.. :down :o

And how would Gordon (policeman), Dent (District Attorney), and Batman (crime fighter) be cheesy? You mean people can't get together when their jobs make them work together?

Yeah, I'm trying to figure out how adding Dent to the closing scene of Batman Begins would magically make it cheesy. What's campy about Dent and Gordon pooling their resources with Batman to take down the Joker?

I guess Morrison decided Batman and Talia getting married out of the blue and divorced just as quickly wasn't his cup of tea, haha.

Eh, they could've retconned the marriage part of the story. Having Batman drugged, and basically being forced to spread his seed, doesn't sit right with me at all. :(

It does seem like a bit of an odd storyline. I'm not familiar with this story, to be honest, and it does seem kinda out of place with the characters I know.

It did. They made a vague reference to the previously out-of-continuity story where Talia and Bruce conceived the child, but retconned it a little (Bruce described it as a eugenics experiment in which he was drugged and forced to participate).

ha ha Batman got date raped. Fear the night, perverts.

my sentiments exactly. felt huckva lot like date rape. although the quicky marriage-divorce wasnt quite Batman either. it would've been best to just present it in a way that Batman fell hard for Talia and/or that maybe he was teetering over to his dark side, its all possible. Batman has trust issues but he can still feel basic human emotions.

Even when Batman does need others and works with them (Alfred, Fox and Gordon in B Begins) he's a loner in the sense thnat he lives like one. Doesn't care for other people liking him, he states that he can't allow himself "the luxury of friends" and stop Gordon from saying "thank you" to him, which, even when it can be reasonably and intellectually explained, it's a sign of how he rather being alone by setting a distance between him and Gordon. He behaves distant even with Alfred. The only person that kind of broke that distance was Rachel, but then she decided to set a distance between her and Bruce.

Batman might be surrounded by people in the movie but hehas a loner's soul.

took the words right out of my head man

just a vague question, but would anyone here rather batman be a "loner"..?
i.e. no robin, nightwing, batgirl, etc.

I always liked Batman as a "loner" much better but don't mind if other directors bring them in 4th.

No, definitely not. Although I'm not a huge fan of some of the sidekicks, again I think he needs those relationships to motivate him.

LOL, ah man thanks for making me totally shoot apple juice out my nose...while at work.

I have always felt that Batman keeps everyone at a distance as a way of keeping on top of everything. He keeps himself on the outside looking in, not fully embracing a normal life. This gives him the perspective and insight to be the world’s greatest detective.

yeah those are the benefits of being a loner, gives you plenty of oppurtunities to keep things in perspective. but essentially Batman has trust issues, and that permeates all relationships, thats why he's alone.

people gotta realise Gordon is like one of the only straight cops in Gotham, so in order for Batman to know Gordon isn't gonan **** him over he has to establish a friendship more than calling him an associate, it has to be closer than that.

IDK man XTC is one hell of a drug, anyone would do anything under the influence of that. Hell if things got real hairy it would have been Ras and Bruce gettin down broke bat mountain style. Easier to explain without all the extra baggage.

Would a phrase like "professional friendship" help the original poster cope with the fact that Batman and Gordon ARE friends?

I mean, they don't have to meet for drinks or go to each other's birthday parties. But they ARE friends.

This thread could easily have read "Batman is a loser"

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

I would.

I don't mind Alfred, Gordon or even Fox.

But I don't like all these other costumed heroes around...including Robin. :whatever:

The instant Robin shows up in these new Bat films, I'm gone.

yeah if they bring in Robin.... or hell even Batgirl or anyone else thats not Batman him self

than kiss this franchise goodbye

I agree...

When you think about it, Batman just began. He is no way ready to be a mentor, when he hasn't fully established his own identity and abilities yet.

Not to mention, I really don't like Robin with Batman. Payaso's sig quote from Tim Sale is just perfect... it's exactly how I prefer Batman

robin red **** should never be brought in to Nolans films
no one gives a **** about robin

hahahahahahaha
