I think they should commission fans to make posters. Like have a poster contest and let the winning poster be the one used for the film.

Agreed....I've seen so many fan posters that are better than the official ones.

I also want to use many fan art pics as DVD covers over some of the crap the studios put out.

Hollywood could definitely hire three or four of the people in this thread.

But there's got to be some psychological phenomenon that happened in the past 10 years where some big shot marketing executives figured out the trends and the components needed to make people aware of a product, and they were like, "Let's cut our costs down on who we commission, and increase the awareness of what they need to know... Name, Face, Title, Date."
