Also, pre-2013, people probably didn't expect perfection neither when it was announced that a new Batman was coming ... and just look at Batfleck now.

Don't get me wrong though, the Darkseid Fanart is absolutely gorgeous.

I don't believe the facial character or creature design is the the job of the person who designs the clothes. I'm pretty sure that's up to the collaborative efforts of the director and the visual effects and/or make-up people if it was practical application.

Its the concept artists, working with the director/art director and/or production designer who work out the look of creatures/characters. Once the director approves, it moves on to the other departments to put the design into the movie.

Agreed, the EW cover left a lot to be desired, but it's still nice to have given that it's the FIRST released photo of the Trinity.

The Total Film cover is a beauty IMO. They don't need to get cute to WOW me with these 3. It's the Holy Trinity for cryin' out loud. MUST BUY.

I know they want to sell mags but Afflecks expression is just bland and pensive. ... like he's saying..."who me?" Just my op.

Looks fantastic, too bad what the studio might inevitably end up with won't look half as bad@$$...

If the current designs are anything to judge by I think the studio might come up with something ever better

I kinda get you, I'd also prefer some pics of them in action, but I can also understand why would they choose such poses for showing off the characters. And when you think about it, these Trinity shots are just the same as their comic book counterparts, with the characters standing like this... I like the fact that it's simply a real life version of those.
