He even used the movie catchphrase when introducing the piece on Twitter.

Ha, yea I saw. That's a big clue John-An. ;)
That means nothing... one guy said on his first and unfinished pic: "nothing greater to start my morning #TheMasterRace and Lee favorited that. :sly:

I bet it may be a variant...

Regardless, the image is clearly based on Wilkinson's design to some extent. You can see that with your own eyes.

Whether it's used as a variant or not at some point doesn't really change that.

Batman looks so badass here, he's such a beast.

Btw, John-An, where did you get your avvie from? :wow:

Bats looks like one of those teens awkwardly getting a picture taken with a cool looking car that's not even theirs.

Little something I have been working on in my spare time, not finished yet (notice the hands and cape), but getting there.
Pattern for the cloth is placeholder, will be replaced with something more screen accurate

And for those interested in that sort of stuff, here's a wireframe

:funny: Exactly what I was thinking. Or reaching for the door handle as if they're getting in for a ride.

That Lee Bermejo piece is a variant cover, and the story will be Batman & Superman vs. The Master Race, but DC didn't allow it to be called that and is actively using Batman beating Superman in the covers.

The variant covers aren't only the ones posted earlier. It's a huge list:

Gary Frank
Michael Allred
Paul Pope
Rafael Albuquerque
Francis Manapul
Bill Sienkiewicz
Klaus Janson
Darwyn Cooke
Jason Fabok
Brian Bolland
Dave Dorman
Artgerm
Jae Lee
Greg Capullo
Marc Silvestri
Sean Murphy
John Cassaday
Ivan Reis
Kevin Eastman
Amanda Conner
Jock
Adam Hughes
Dale Keown
J. Scott Campbell
Tim Sale
Kelley Jones
Terry Dodson
Joshua Middleton
John Romita, Jr.
David Finch
Simon Bisley
Walter Simonson
Tyler Kirkham
Eduardo Risso
Lee Bermejo
Neal Adams
Gabriele Dell’Otto

I was thinking he had an invisible trigger thingy. The kind you push down and it triggers an explosion...

@TheDarkKnight_NL looks good. I don't know much about wireframe programming.

All he needs now is an iPhone and a snapback. :sly:

Just because his name is mentioned there doesn't mean that particular piece will be used as a variant; he may have something else in store for Dark Knight III. Even if it does end up being used, the image in question can still be referred to as fan art based on Wilkinson's "Bat Armor" from the movie for obvious reasons. That's all I'm saying.

And? That doesn't mean it can't be a variant for the comic.Comics are likely gonna promote the movie.

It doesn't mean it can't be otherwise :sly:

You told William that it isn't fan art from BvS. Right? Well, I was merely correcting you, as it's clearly based on Wilkinson's work.

Will it also be used as a variant for DK III? Maybe. I'm not discounting the possibility. As of this moment, however, we don't know that for certain -- but I'm sure you'll be the first to let me know if there are any official updates from DC. lol

Amazing work !

The suit design kind of reminds me of Atom's suit though .. :hmm:
Granted, Atom's suit does not look anywhere as cool

Yup. it wasn't fan-art. IT was done by an artist which purpose can be from a variant, part of that comic or promotional, and that pal, we will see.

Although drawn by a professional artist, technically speaking, the piece can still be considered fan art based on the film regardless of whatever purpose -- something we aren't even privy to at this point -- it's used for. As such, William wasn't wrong to post it in a thread called 'Batman Vs Superman Manips & Art.'

This image, for example, was illustrated by professional artist Ardian Syaf

And how did you refer to it?

Wow that was a stunning fan-art. Maybe he is beating them because the S symbol and... Maybe he lost the battle :o

He's not wrong at all. The thread is "Manip & Art", end of story.
We posted official art from comics here before, like that Teen Titans GO! Variant

Plus, Bermejo's art is not even finished, and is not promotional material for the movie.

Simply put, even professional artist make fan art. I don't even know why people are arguing semantics.

I feel like this would be spot on if the neck was shortened. Not even kidding. Because if you use your x ray vision and try to see the proportion without the suit, it's pretty off.
