1. superman can barely handle luthor, so how could he beat someone ten times as smart with weapons 20 times more efficient.
2. batman doesnt need any time to prepare he is ALWAYS prepared, that is why he is batman people, he has beaten clayface, bane, man-bat, killer croc, mr. freeze, prometheus, and killer moth when you have beaten superhuman rogues like these an alien who has willingly given you his weakness should be a piece of cake. an besides lets not forget supermans greatest fallability, he is afraid of overusing his own powers...
that is he keeps himself in check and fears harming others. this is a severe handicap in batmans favor.
also batman keeps files on how to kill all league members if they go rogue, so he really should have no problem, he thinks far in adavnce whereas superman solely relies on his powers.

Batman is paranoid to a fault which counts as an advantage when dealing with people who are unpredictable or has the upper hand but that counts for nothing if you're enemy can move onto you faster than a speeding bullet. and Batman isnt omnipotent, there will be windows of opportunity where he can be taken down even before he is aware of whats happening.

that was kinda my point, superman isnt kind, he is CAUTIOUS about using his powers, and his "pro-life" attitude is a weakness that batman doesnt share,(you just said that he is forgiving to a fault, thanks for proving my point) so while superman would excersize restraint batman would not. and secondly it sounded like you called me stupid, what did i do to you man, with all due respect lets keep this a friendly argument

If you read Action Comics #851, there's a picture of Batman being tossed like a toy by Phantom Zone crimmals which have the same powers and strength equel to Superman. So much so, that later in the issue he was actually taken prisoner by them.

that's debatable. IMHO Bruce is smarter than Lex, its just that Lex has absolutely no morals that doesnt hesitate to use whatever means to achieve his objectives. Bruce still has a conscience. there will always be something that will keep him from crossing over the dark side.

also in "Superman & Batman vs Aliens & Predators", there was a point in the story where they had to fight the Alien Queen, in that environment at that point in the story there was no sun and Superman has spent his reserves fighting off the other aliens just to get to this one, so by the time he was fighting the Queen he was fighting as a regular human. he had no weapons, no armor-- not even friggin gloves, he gave that alien a smackdown with all he's got, bare arms on poisonous venom and all.

so if theres anyone who would question Superman's courage and compare it to Batman, think again.

He'd go in his "Special Occasion" closet and pull out his Batman Beyond out fit. Then using all those specially designed stealth equipment designed to nullify Superman's super detecting senses...sneak up on him and take him down with some sort of ingenious weapon he's been working on since Big Blue first arrived on the superhero scene!

End of Story. The Dark Knight wins hands down.

alright to be fair in a hand to hand fight superman would turn batman into guano, BUT his powers are dependent upon too many factors...

1. he was lucky enough to land on a planet where the gravity was low enough to make him superficially strong

2. he requires the sun to charge his abilities

3. if everything else goes right he still has to worry if there is any kryptonite around, which unfortunately batman was given willingly

batman perhaps is well aware of all these factors and how they contribute to his strength so he would easily orchistrate a fight in which he would get the most advantage, and if superman gets too close he has a little chunk of kryptonite to finish him off.
