Wolverine won't be till 2008 I can tell you that.

Die Hard 4
James Cameron's: AVATAR which has a rumored budget of 315 million.

and more to come.

That budget for Avatar can;t be real:eek:

I think some people are underestimating Iron Man's popularity. Sure, he's not one of Marvel's biggest names, but I think he's rather well known, even to the general public. He had a cartoon a while back, and dont forget the Black Sabbath song (although it really had nothing to do with the Iron Man of the comics, people seem to think it does). He's definatley Marvel's biggest franchise without a movie franchise.

Of course, I still doubt he'll beat out the next Batman, but I could see him beating out Indy 4 if they mess up on it.

I think Captain America is more popular honestly, I mean before I started looking into comics (last year) I had heard of him - the same can not be said about Iron Man.

Captain America is more popular in terms of being recognizeable but overseas he's probably one of the least bankable characters. It's gonna be a tough job making that film sellable without it being corny. I'm sure they'll get it right with Spielberg behind the wheel. He'll get the job.

Capt. America can rake in a load domestically to make up for it - their advertising slogan needs to be SEE CAPTAIN AMERICA OR YOUR A PINKO COMMIE! The movie will sell out everywhere west of California.

Really? You'd never heard of Iron Man? I just got into comics last year too (thanks Chris Nolan!) but I'd always known of him. On the other hand, I do hang out with a lot of comic fans, and I'd seen an episode or two of the cartoon, and of course Marvel vs. Capcom. But I guess it's hard for anyone to really judge that kind of thing on their own. We're all kind of biased.

Well, I think The Avatar will make less than $300m, "Cameron" doesn't mean everything.

"Cameron" means $,$$$,$$$,$$$...

i guess it REALLY depends on how the movie looks and how they advertise it.

Peter Jackson also meant $$$, and what happened with his KK?

The same with Spielberg and his low WOTW's numbers.

Yup :(

For people saying Iron man is no competition...let me say, FF wasnt really 'well known'...or so claimed fanboys and it made 50 mil at BO...yeah its BO decreased but because of bad WOM. FF isnt as popular as Batman but it still beat it at opening weekend. Now if Iron man can attract audiences of all ages and if it has good word of mouth itll be some serious competition for Batman imo

I think Die Hard 4 won't have a huge sucess, 2008 will probably be Batman & Iron Man's year, IM has a pretty good chance to beat Batman, we never know...

FF is actually a fairly well known franchise. Their old cartoons use to be very popular and thats how I knew of the franchise. Also it beat out Batman Begins because of marketing to little chijuns.

Looks like it and a Wolveirne origin film. The script review is awesome and I think Wolverine will easily beat Batman sequel hands down. No brainer.

i think the movie to watch out for is Iron Man. its shaping to be a juggernaut of a movie and it hasnt even started with pre-production.

I'm pretty sure Nolan and crews Batman 2 sequel with Joker will be a better film than slapstick director Favreau and Arads Iron Man. Especially since Arad is heavily involved in the production. When he butts his nose in too much...he ruins films.

How will Wolverine beat Batman hands down?? Critically?? Or do you mean moneywise??

The Begins 2 sequel will have Joker involved and everybody and there mother can't wait to see that.

Wolverine doesn't even have a director yet.....and plus the Wolverine film better hope Avi Arad and Fox do not get too much involved....cause they will ruin the potential for the Wolverine movie! Your nuts...
