I seem to remember some guy saying BB would open to $300 million back in 2005. A $300 million opening weekend. TDK should open big, but anything above $100 million will be a blessing.

Mrmm.. considering commercials started in May and have been ramping up lately (still more than one month to go, too) I'd say 83% chance of opening weekend being above $200 million... With room to stretch its legs in August.

I think this one will be much more front-loaded and less realiant on word of mouth than Begins.

Hulk needed Batman Begins-type WoM and Reviews to have a chance of being a large box office success. That is not the case here, and Ang Lee's Hulk is going to hurt this film.

I agree with many that TDK will top Hulk. It just we are getting Joker again & he is the most popular iconic villian in history along with the hype, that it will make a lot of people go see it. And I think Wall-E could make more than some of you guys think. It's a PIXAR film & they're known for making hit with each new films. And the fact they're very successful at the box office too. But how much it make compare to TDK is unknown. I do that know Wall-E will be a success & you can bank on that.

I am not arguing the enjoyment of the movie - merely the reception of the movie. While i have heard a lot of people say the movie was great - it is not being universally perceived that way like Begins, Spider-Man 1 and 2, etc. were - and after Hulk, this film needed such board.

Yes DESERVES, because of all the human beings who put forth all the hard work and effort to make this film better than the rest.
And by putting forth all that hard work and creativity, that is what will put "everyone else" in those seats come July 18th.

This movie looks awesome on an insane level but I'm not going to let the fact that Batman is one of my favorite characters get in the way of logic.

Yes, the cast and crew busted their asses on this film but like I said in the beginning of this post...so do all the other cast and crew members for the other films that have come out and are coming out.

Normally I wouldn't agree with Kid , but this time I'm going to .. sort of. I think Good movies DESERVE things just like bad movies Deserve as well. A good movie does indeed deserve a big box office because a quality film was made.
