^It has huuuuuuge competition after the 18th. It has to compete against the latest Mummy movie and the X Files and the Will Farrell Comedy Step Brothers.

Everyone knows that it'll be

-TDK
-IronMan
-TIH

There is no logic too it, it just will happen.

I've had conversations with non-Batman fans and I've brought up The Dark Knight and they have no clue that it's a Batman flick. Some thought it was some medieval thing.

So does Nolan.

Fanboys say the darndest things.

Would you consider that a Superhero film though?

I guess it is, but not like TDK, Iron Man, Hulk, or even Hellboy

Err. He's talking about Handcock not hancock, maybe subject for another site? Maybe?:o

I'm gonna stick by my list for this year's BO superhero movie order.

1. Iron Man
2. HULK
3. TDK

ROFL

Anyway lets move on to something that isn't just a joke.

I don't think there are very many people confused about TDK at this point it's awareness is so high and a lot of sites have had polls that have declared it easily the most anticipated movie of the year.

Also I think it's a bit naive to say that TDK beating Iron Man is a slam dunk. It's possible, but not for sure not even all the likely. Trust me I would prefer TDK to win the entire year, but I think at this point Iron-man is got a lock as far as the super hero flicks go.

I think TDK and Iron Man will be kind of close.

Ironman
TDK
TIH

We need to start seeing more of these commercials with some frequency. More people realizing TDK is a new Batman flick, the better.

I wonder how this viral marketing strategy will help, it's going to be difficult to gauge how effective it'll have been.

Personally, I think TDK will blow away Iron Man and Hulk, but that's mostly due to the added hype for this movie, and the fact that it's Heath Ledger's farewell movie.
What concerns me is the fact that it comes out so late in the summer (although I realize it has little competition beyond July 18th).

I wonder how much more the hype machine will be increased over the next month.

Actually, TDK won't be Heath's farewell movie; that would be The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, the movie he was shooting when he passed away.

My prediction for 2008 between the 3 movies will be:

1. Iron Man
2. TDK
3. TIH

However, I think TIH will surprise alot of people by the amount it makes at the BO. I think it will be a hit.

I highly doubt TIH will make that much I mean it has to go against 2 comedy's Wall-e & Wanted then finally Hancock

it has big competition and being how Get Smart Wall-e hell even Wanted all actually look good it isnt going to luck out like Iron Man did agaisnt the flops that were Narnia and Speed

Don't understimate TIH...I think it will be the surprise hit of the summer...Not a Huge hit, but it should have no problem making some nice dough.

I'm quite surprised many are writing off TDK's chances. Granted, it is possible for both IM and TIH to outdo it due to the quality that has been put into these films. But I fail to see how this will hinder TDK's chances, which doesn't look like it has been done half-assed compared to the other two.

If anything going by IM's BO performance and TIH's potential (and I am pretty confident this will do business, it looks quality). TDK has an excellent chance of making it even with these two, if not surpassing them.

And in regards to its later release date, if the film delivers theres no reason why its release date should effect it. Other than the fact if both IM and TIH are in longer releases than TDK.

Incorrect. Both Iron-man and TIH do not have a chance to out due. The incredible Hulk has next to .9% of a chance if that. Iron-man will most likely out do TDK, but not Hulk.

Check the history of this release date and see how well it's stood up. The release dates actually do matter. It's a simple fact there are plenty of Box office web sites out there for you to look at and the facts will clearly show.

^ I'm fairly certain many will still flock to the dark knight I mean people love to say May is the start of the summer but **** people are now getting out of school July is the real start of the summer TDK should make easily and I say easily 200 mil first two weeks then reaching 300 if its all that its hyped up to be shouldnt be much of a problem I see TDK being the top of the summer and so does many other sites that credit movies being how Indy was the only other movie that had the same level of hype

Personally, my sentiments are the same. Though I'm just covering all bases, just in case. :oldrazz:

Meh if I'm wrong I'll totoally accept it, but I'm more concerned with giving my honest thoughts up front.
