BBC Shows

Not a BBC show, but I'm enjoying the hell out of The Tunnel season 2. I only have the finale to go.

There's a new BBC America show called Thirteen that i'll be checking out. Anyone got any Netflix recommendations..?

Matt LeBlanc is reportedly considering quitting Top Gear due rumoured tension with his co-host Chris Evans.

The new iteration of the hit motoring show has received mixed reviews from viewers and rumours of tensions between the two main hosts has been long speculated on.

LeBlanc silenced claims back in May telling Radio Times, "All this stuff that Chris and I are at war with each other is a big load of bulls***. We've never had a rift!"

Matt LeBlanc rumoured to be considering Top Gear exit

There's a new British Detective Netflix series called 'Marcella' that i'll be digging into this weekend!

I heard Marcella was a convoluted, confusing mess.

I won't lie: when I heard that Brexit had won the first thing I wondered was how that would affect the plot of The Tunnel season 3.

I watched Marcella. I thought it was pretty good.

There is a bbc buddy cop show called new blood on at the moment which I have been enjoying.

Then I'll have to give Marcella and New Blood a whirl.

Finished Marcella. It was pretty good. About to start 'River'.

Looks like there was truth to the rumor about tension between him and LeBlanc. Or the pressure of the series was too great to handle.

Top Gear reached a series low of 1.9m on Sunday. 800,000 down on last week's average of 2.7m.

The figures are lower than any in the Jeremy Clarkson revival era.

Evans is also facing a sexual assault allegation.

Personally I think the show should also get rid of Matt, Sabine and Eddie Jordan. The other two however have potential and could be great if promoted to top billing along with someone new.

Thandie Newton is the new guest lead character in the next series of hit BBC drama Line of Duty.
The character is described as the police anti-corruption squad's "most devious opponent yet".

"I watched the last three seasons of Line of Duty with breathless admiration for its creators, both behind and in front of the camera," she said.

Co-star Compston added: "It's a testament to how well Line of Duty has done [in the] last few years that we can attract someone of Thandie Newton's calibre to the show. It's great to have her on board."

The actress follows in the footsteps of Lennie James, Keeley Hawes and Daniel Mays, who have guest-starred as the lead character in Line of Duty for the past three series.

Bafta winner Jason Watkins, Lee Ingleby and Royce Pierreson will also appear in series four, which will move to BBC One after its ratings success on BBC Two - becoming the highest-rating drama series ever on the channel.

Creator and writer Jed Mercurio teased he was looking forward to "tormenting the nation with ever more diabolical plot twists".

This show gets surprisingly little buzz outside of the UK which is odd because it is easily one of the best thriller shows being made at the moment and is one the most successful British shows around at the moment.

Kit Harington eyes Guy Fawkes drama for BBC (Report) http://bit.ly/2dpG8Vk

“Game of Thrones” star Kit Harington is set to star in and produce a drama about Guy Fawkes for the BBC, according to reports.

The thriller, which has the working title “Gunpowder,” is based on a real-life Catholic plot (the so-called Gunpowder Plot) in 1605 in England, led by Fawkes, to blow up the Houses of Parliament in London and to kill King James I.

Endemol Shine’s Kudos will produce the show with Harington’s Thriker Films, according to Broadcast magazine. The miniseries will comprise three hour-long episodes.

Harington revealed on a BBC chat-show earlier this year that he was related to Robert Catesby, one of the plotters, and that he was working on a screenplay about the events.
Harington told the Guardian in March that he would like to produce TV shows.
“I’d love to go back into a top-quality TV show, because that’s where storytelling is at its most exciting and dangerous at the moment,” he said. “Also, I’ve written three TV shows with my best friend, Dan West, two of which we have sold, so I would like to see myself producing. I met Dan at drama school — we live together and write together. It’s like a sexless marriage.”

That sounds like a fascinating idea for a TV show.

I watched the first 2 eps of Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency. Pretty wacky. Not too surprised to see it was a Douglas Adams novel, but one I hadn't heard of. I'll definitely be watching the rest of the season.

Anyone here see The Moorside? It's a fascinating story brilliantly acted. I didn't really buy the police's conclusion that [blackout]Karen and Mick had help planning Shannon's kidnapping. They seemed sufficiently naive to pull such a foolish scheme off on their own. I also didn't believe that weird story Karen told about how it was all a cover for her to escape from Craig. Probably just another one of her lies.[/blackout]

I hope the saga's ending doesn't prevent the community from pulling together during a time of crisis in the future.

Excited for the new seasons of Line Of Duty and The Last Kingdom.

BBC's Troy cast.
http://deadline.com/2017/03/troy-fa...onnor-david-threlfall-bbc-netflix-1202055633/

BBC One/Netflix co-production Troy: Fall Of A City has set its cast with Louis Hunter, Bella Dayne, David Threlfall, Frances O’Connor, Jonas Armstrong, Joseph Mawle, Tom Weston-Jones, David Gyasi, Johnny Harris and Chloe Pirrie among those strapping on sandals for the epic tale of mortals and gods. Produced by Wild Mercury in association with Kudos, Troy is written by The Night Manager‘s David Farr. The drama is filming on location in Cape Town and will premiere in the UK on BBC One and globally outside of the UK on Netflix which boarded earlier this month.

Described as “psychologically rich” and “visceral,” the eight-part retelling of the fall of Troy sweeps back to the judgement of Paris, his scandalous love affair with Helen and the ill-starred prophecy surrounding his birth. When the baby Paris is born, the omens foretell that he will bring about the downfall of the city. Queen Hecuba and King Priam are forced to choose whether to abandon their newborn son to the wolves or save him, but risk the safety of their kingdom. Their choice will decide not only the fate of their child, but the very existence of Troy. Told from the perspective of the Trojan royal family at the heart of the siege, the story’s main themes are love, intrigue, betrayal and belonging.

Hunter (The Fosters) and Dayne (Humans) will star as Paris and Helen, the lovers whose passionate affair plunges Greece and Troy into war. Threlfall (Shameless) is Paris’ father, King Priam of Troy, alongside Frances O’Connor (The Missing) as Hecuba, Queen of Troy, and Tom Weston-Jones (Dickensian) as their eldest son Hector.

Game Of Thrones‘ Mawle plays as Odysseus; Pirrie (War & Peace) is Andromache; Harris (This Is England 86-90) is Agamemnon; Gyasi (Interstellar) is Achilles; and Armstrong (Ripper Street) plays Menelaos, the King of Sparta whose marriage to Helen is destroyed when Paris arrives in his city.

Further casting includes Alfred Enoch (How To Get Away With Murder) as the Trojan general Aeneas, and Aimee-Ffion Edwards (Luther).
This is a reteam for Farr and BBC One after the award-winning Night Manager. He says, “The story we’re telling has an epic and political sweep but is also deeply human and intimate. I look forward to seeing these actors take you on the journey.” He is also exec producing.
Derek Wax (Humans) is executive producer for Wild Mercury with Christopher Aird (Call The Midwife) for the BBC.

I have been so excited for Troy ever since I first heard about it.

This series of Line of Duty has been awesome so far. The end of every episode has me going WTF?
