Being single sucks

Lol you think him taking Algebra 1 4 times is bad listen to this. I was in pre-algebra in the 7th grade which was the "smart" class. Failed it took it in 8th grade when it was the normal class. Failed it went to high school for 9th grade and it was the dumb class by then and well never even passed it. I ended up being a 3rd year freshman and outta no where I get this letter in the mail saying theyve bumped me up to a Junior. But granted by this time I was attending an "Alternative School" cause i was a bad kid plus I got expelled like 3 months later for going to school for like 3 months straight robo-tripping. Got my GED though and everyone knows that stands for Good Enough Diploma

Keep bragging, the aweso-meter is almost off the charts!

You think I was bragging? What the hell did I say that sounded like bragging. I was a loser in school all I cared about was getting stoned and having fun with friends and it got me kicked out I made mistakes. The bad thing is even though I never did hardly any of my school work I really didnt because I knew it all allready. School work was never hard for me I just hated doing it because well I allready knew all the stuff. I do miss school though I had an fn blast just wish I didnt go to crazy like I did and get kicked out.

Obviously not since you failed Algebra 3 or 4 times.

I know some gifted students may have trouble if they find the work too easy but failing Algebra 3-4 times? I was kinda lazy because I knew enough not to have to really study and I still got B's and C's when I didn't.

****, at that point you better start cheating or something.

Algebra isn't advanced math. Calculus is advanced math. :funny: And I sucked at it, even though I was very good at algebra. :funny:

I had a lot of trouble with algebra, even though I've always been a good student. I think some folks just have a harder time conceptualizing math concepts outside of the very basic stuff. I definitely wouldn't say algebra is basic math though. It isn't the hardest but it isn't easy either.

i think runt was being facetious

Use smaller words.

And Eklypze, anything that starts with "LOL you think that was bad, listen to THIS!" is bragging. One-upping (or one-downing in this case) is just a way to 'seem cool' by having the best (or worst) story. It's all attention seeking, even if the attention is negative. That said, if you really knew all the stuff in school already, you wouldn't be typing like an idiot.

Hmm, I suppose. It's definitely less abstract than calculus, but even with algebra, looking at variables makes my brain shut down. :funny:

When I go to college....am I screwed in math because it's been 4 yrs since high school? Only done basic math since school.

Depends on which kind you go to. Associate's degree likely won't require any general education credits, while a community college or public uni where you'll get a bachelor's might. It really depends on the school. I know you were looking at specific places - it would do you good to look up their general education requirements.

Right now the plan is to go to Community...take the basic studies for UNC-W...which is like 11 or 12 classes...and hopefully be able to transfer to the school and enroll for their film program.

I can enroll starting next month at community for Spring.

Dude I failed because I didnt do the work. Not because I didnt know it. I was just lazy and didnt wanna sit there and do equations all night when I allready got the damn point ya know. Grades dont measure intelligence they measure laziness and willingness to do what your told. At least thats what I always told myself when I was younger

You do have a point. I did sound like I was bragging I was just trying to make a point. I was the ****tiest student ever. But if I wanted to I couldve recieved good grades I just didnt care. It was that simple for me. School was the farthest thing from my mind when I was young. Back then to me school was just something that I was forced to get up and do everyday thats it. Now that Ive been out of school for about 8 years and just got my GED last year I kinda want to go to school and actually try because Im older and wiser and know where I made mistakes in the past and just how much I really ****ed up my life by getting expelled.

bad at math myself... that's why I took math courses with female instructors.... amazing what a little flirting will do for your grade... I even slept with one my senior year..... booyah....

HAHA you for real? There plenty of teachers I wouldve loved to have turned into a bangmaid just never got around to it. I was worried more about playing video games and getting stoned outta my mind lmao

yep. last year in college... my instructor in my accounting class.... she was in her late 30s, and I used to stay after class for help... during the year, about half way through, why had a pretty good repor, and she told me that she was having a hard day because her and her boyfriend just broke up... she told me she needed a drink, and me being 21, I took her up on it, saying we could discuss class stuff at the bar.... we drank for a few hours, and she ended up buying a another round, and sat right next to me, and put her head on my shoulder.... before I knew it, her hand wa laying somewhere, and we went back to her house.....

we had that type of relationship even into the next semester.... we ender our fling a few months after graudation.... she even came to my graudation party... and I got my gift later... lol...

Dear Penthouse....

Well this is the internet, so it wouldn't surprise me if dude simply made that up.

Perhaps, but grades are the only channel to get that stuff out of the way and onto more interesting things. :funny: What's the point in hating algebra for 4 years in a row if one could get it over with in 1?

The point was I didnt care. Whats hard to understand about that? I was never the type of person that thought about the future or gave a **** what the "adults" were telling me. Its that simple I did not give a ****. Pretty much about anything and that attitude lasted a really long time and I still struggle with it on a daily basis to be honest. The whole "I dont give a **** about nothing or noone. The world could burn and I wouldnt care" attitude. Thats how I felt as a kid and a young adult. Its taken me a long time to confront my own demons with substance abuse, social anxieties, depression, just pure and utter hatred at the fact that I am a conscious being. I love life now and it took lots of soul searching and contemplation for me to discover that what you do in this life matters. Now its more about me actually DOING something about it instead of talking and aknowleding said problems. Anyone understand what Im saying at all???

I'm genuinely curious, is it common place for American universities to require a math credit for any Bachelor degree? Even if your major was English, or Fine Arts?
