In one of parallel universes, Sean Young played the role... I'd like to go to that universe one day.

In a parallel universe somewhere Tim Burton's "Superman Lives" made it through production and was released in theaters, I'd like to go to that universe someday to see it out of sheer morbid curiosity. Then while I was at it I would swing by the universe where Batman Triumphant was made.

Um, when was J.J. Abrams involved with Indiana Jones?

I actually saw a lifesize Anne Hathaway Catwoman statue yesterday which was a great surprise. So I'm valuing that memory over your GIF. But thanks for the greeting anyway. :o

This should come as no surprise to everyone. :o

Yup, I know mate... seen UC few times already. It's just that I find it possible that this was simply a little fan service and they won't necessarily show us white eyes in any of future films.

Anyway, lets move this conversation to Batman thread, shall we? I'm feeling kinda guilty here. :p

That was more in reaction to Polux than you as it seemed he didn't seem to be aware we had seen a glimpse of that, I just included yours cause it was related.

However speaking to that hint I kind of wish we would have been given more of a tease than just that, as for the whole movie Snyder had been building up to the Batman vs Thugs sequence sort of like a monster movie showing us a little more and different elements but never the full thing, so to fit this I would have been following the perspective of the security guards hearing things and seeing everyone disappear around them, really amp up the fear and show Batman as a creature of nightmare with the last look being a guard seeing that scene we see on the cctv footage with a close focus on the eyes so that the security footage is still aweing and something new.

Ah, my mistake then.

Oh, I hear you, I definitely do, but it would take too much of screen time. They had to cut a lot as it is. I do hope we'll get to see such scene in Batman solo, though. I was kinda expecting something like that in SS, due to Ayer saying that we're seeing Batman from criminals' perspective, but two seconds of that Deadshot scene aside, there was nothing of a kind.

I'd like to think that was trailer park cutting and WB sanitation. What I was specifically going for was for the glowing eyes to be seen in a demonic nightmarish way with them all of the guards disappearing and that being the last thing the last guard sees as this thing drags his friend into the rafters before he is knocked unconscious. It would have played into the theme that Bruce is becoming a monster really well by obscuring his eyes and taking away a link to his humanity. I wonder if they even filmed a full sequence, I'm inclined to think they didn't but I wish they did knowing that while it wouldn't make it into the theatrical cut it would really help move a ton of Blu-rays as well as deal with some of the complaints that the film didn't have enough action. Unfortunately I also don't think we'll be seeing them in "The Batman" as other than that quick shot we haven't had any other indication that they exist, hopefully Affleck uses them in "The Batman" but he may not, I'd still personally prefer glowing tech contacts as that would make him look more creaturesque in my opinion but the full glowing eyes would work too.

Who knows...? Or perhaps this is how Ayer imagines Batman from criminals' POV. In any case, it doesn't really matter at this point, what's there is there.

Which is why I like the idea very much. Though I must admit that, while I'm not big fan of glowing contact lenses, they would probably work with this organic-looking cowl better than retractable lenses would. As I said in another thread, despite advocating white slits in live action for years, I do feel it would compromise this bestial, organic cowl Wilkinson created. Contact lenses would probably be more natural way to go.

Wilkinson did say that while Batman is wearing the goggles while piloting the knightcrawler, light would sort of reflect back from that, giving the eyes that glowing look as a nod to the comics.

And yeah, I noticed (and loved) the white eyes in the security footage; I never thought of it as more than a little easter egg, since those kind of light effects are quite common in low quality footage, you know? You probably have had your picture taken when your pupils look red or white because of the way the refracted the light in the very second....

Anyways, Bats could have been wearing lenses or not, I'd like to think he has'em and hopefully we'll see them in the future in a more "creature-like" way; this being a more "comic-booky" universe than the Nolan series and with all the people involved being big comic fans, I don't see it beyond the real of possibility....

And good think in moving this combo over here guys, we don't wanna derail other thread...come on...we're better than that... :o

Did he say it would be a "light reflection" effect, tho?? I thought he said that the lenses would light up themselves?? I could be remembering it wrong of course...

Full Quotes from Wilkinson :

"So in the final chapter of our film, Batman realizes he has to step up his game a little bit and he and Alfred have been working on developing a suit that's even more protective and offers more deflection than the classic suit,so in a sense, it's piece of armor.

"So you can see the classic suit underneath, but on top are straps and layers of the carbon fiber, strengthening armor plates, he's got sort of a leather layer upon here that he is strapping all over his plates onto the wrapping around his body and offering just a little more protection than the old. He's also going to get a new cowl with some new tech details and that gives him even more protection. We're going to do some goggles for him, a new tech cape made out of our carbon fiber weave.

"We liked the way that they catch the light and give that classic image from the comic books. But he'll also be piloting a new vehicle that he will need these goggles for".

Oh cool, do you have a link to the interview??

I'm interested to see the lenses playing out but I do really wish we'd get the emotive white eyes in live action. They did a really good job with them in Spiderman. I understand that the fact you can see Ben's mouth makes the CGI eyes a bit more difficult to "blend in" as it were than what they do with Spidey but it would be so cool. I feel like a shot in the shadows where only the whites of the eyes can be seen would give all of us the warm fuzzies without being jarring.

Deadpool mastered that sort of thing. His eyes looked great. It wasn't TOO cartoony either. And it really did help the character emote.

It could definitely work with Batman.

Live By Night kinda bombed with limited release. Just 50k in two days. Hope it will do better when it will go wide.
