Ben Affleck IS Bruce Wayne/Batman - Part 3

Especially when the person themselves is fine with groping women.

And his drinking/substance problem was in full high then too, so add that into the situation. What he did was garbage, but I won't hate him for backing his brother.

Is that what you got from that Rose affleck tweet? Cause I sure didn't. I still don't understand how all this Weinstein stuff is being placed on Affleck when he was just one of many who knew.
What I got from it was that he knew specifically what he did, and then tried to act like he just found out. And now Affleck has accusation of his own to deal with and we know about his brother. So it all comes together with him. This isn't one thing for Affleck, it is at least three.

But he isn't the only one getting called out for this, not that it matters. Blame everyone. Doesn't change Affleck's involvement.

People keep talking about what Affleck did...

Exactly what did Ben do in relation to Casey Affleck's allegations? So far, all I've seen is that he, Damon and various others refused to do interviews with people who wanted to talk about the allegations.

That's their right. It's the equivalent of saying "no comment". It's not exactly open, but it's also not exactly an immoral move. It's separating whatever project you're working on from your brother's personal business.

Was there more to it?

Drinking/substance abuse doesn't make you sexually assault woman.

I will dislike him for sexually assaulting women and defending others who do.

all Warner need for press is Gal, they could sell the movie with hER , everybody & their MAMA love that Woman .

affleck need to stay away from this movie & focus on other stuff,

They could have Henry Cavill do some press-even though he's dead.

It could also be that he just forgot that moment with Rose? As awful that might sound. When did I try to change his involvement tho? I just understand him backing up his brother that is all.

We've all seen drunks, Darth. Especially those with no idea how to take a hint from women.

Come on, man.

They refused access to any journalist willing to report on the accusations. That is black balling to hide the accusations. They both also found it funny.

The member, who requested anonymity, said the sexual harassment allegations did not surface during HFPA interviews with Affleck, possibly to avoid offending Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, who championed the younger Affleck in their own meetings with the group. “They both joked that Casey finally needs a Golden Globe. Very much the united front ... and maybe that really protects Casey from real scrutiny. Reminds me a bit of Woody Allen – the liberal press loves him too much to want to really look for the truth.”

yea, i can't judge affleck for defending his own family - even though, if allegations are true, how crappy his little bro's actions were.

on the other hand, the problem with the rose mcgowan stuff, was he pretty much turned a blind eye toward it. he knew to probably a good extent of weinstein's predatory behavior. and that mcgowan was a victim to it.
but due to his ongoing business relationship with weinstein at the time, he only gave a tepid response to mcgowan about it.
that's really the worse part of all this.

add to that his history of being a *****e and groping chicks.
but turning away from mcgowan when she was someone clearly in need of help and still to this day is traumatized by it, is the most damning part.
that's probably even worse than the TRL groping crap.

Him forgetting the moment with Rose doesn't change what that moment reveals. Namely that he knew. Also, I don't understand him backing his brother because I don't believe he thinks his brother is innocent. And that has everything to do with everything else coming out and surrounding this, including his own past.

I am not saying you are trying to change his involvement. What I am saying is that bringing up others wrongdoing in this situation does not dilute what Affleck did.

Others being worse doesn't excuse behavior which is highly inappropriate in itself.

Oh boy, I hope they don't make Gal do all the promotions, not a easy task given the situation, and the fact that two directors and one actor is absent and other actor (Cavill) might not get time for it.

Gal and Ray Fisher are newcomers to Hollywood. I say let Ezra and Momoa do all the promo work !

And that is on you, man. Your perspective. Valid as mine.

I brought up others mostly just in general as hollywood as whole being scum. Never excused what Affleck did in the situation.

Being drunk does not make you a sexual predator. If one cannot avoid being a sexual predator while drinking, they really shouldn't drink.

So honestly, are some of you gonna NOT watch Justice League now?

As far as I'm concerned, everyone who came out NOW about this is just as guilty as Ben for not coming forward earlier. Especially if a majority of these people continued working for Weinstein and his associates, and these same people came out condemning Trump of his actions. They entirety of Hollywood is full of hypocrisy, yet only the guys are getting the brunt of it. Sure they weren't victims, but really, would you really bite the hand that fed you in that very same scenario? It's easy to condemn others when not faced with the same situations.

I know some have face traumas of their own here, and I know some will come forward, but that only puts more onus on the victims of this ordeal of why they didn't come out with these accusations earlier. And I can almost bank that this all boils down to a few things, mostly survival. Survival in the sense that 90% of these people have their careers and families on the line. Is it moral to endanger your family to fight someone who outclasses you in authority and power to satisfy your moral code? It's a tough choice. That's probably why a bunch of Hollywood people fall into drugs and other substance and habit abuses, either to get over the trauma, or to numb themselves of their own guilt in not being able to stand up and do the right thing.

I'm sure a good majority of these people are not inherently bad people. Some probably made stupid decisions when young, and made questionable advances. We've all made stupid mistakes. Theirs are just amplified because they're Hollywood with a magnifying glass on. But when your entire professional career and livelihood to support your family is on the line, and you're asked to turn a blind eye towards questionable things, I'm sure most of you would be hard pressed to find that an easy decision to make.

Don't know about you guys, but I'm still gonna see it because not only have I waited long enough to see this film, but I know how to distinguish an actor's personality/personal life from the work they do.

^ This.

I agree. Plus, I'm not going to punish the other people who worked hard to get this movie made just because of the actions of one person.

Gal and Ezra could totally handle the main promo on their own. Not ideal, but manageable.

Yeah, I'm normally a "reasonable doubt" kinda guy, but it's hard to believe that Affleck spent a bunch time around HW and didn't pick up on his predatory behavior.

As for the groping..the blowback should have been on him years ago.

You could say that he was younger then, but the thing is, you should know how to treat members of the opposite sex before you reach adulthood.

Where does that article you posted say any of that?
What do you think the comparison of Woody Allen is for? The award is the smoke screen. This is pretty obvious. They presented themselves as one. It wasn't just Casey, it was Ben and Matt as well.

https://www.thecut.com/2016/11/why-the-casey-affleck-sex-harassment-allegations-wont-stick.html

Audiences have not had to grapple with Affleck’s alleged faults, because the media has largely ignored the lawsuits since they were settled. Luckiest for Affleck, he is the brother of a major movie star and the childhood friend of another. Ben Affleck and Matt Damon have championed and protected Casey throughout his career, sending a message to the media that they are a united front. Lainey Lui of Lainey Gossip noted earlier this month that Ben and Matt have been particularly present throughout Casey’s Oscar campaign, showing up smiling to premieres and posing for photos as a trio. Matt, who himself produced Manchester by the Sea, sang Casey’s praises to both the Times and Variety. This brotherly posing makes prestige outlets hesitant to ask the younger Affleck tough questions, for fear of losing access to all three stars. His cruise to the Oscars continues undeterred because of his privileged position in Hollywood.

I will be there opening day. I can separate the art from the artist. There is no Pulp Fiction without Weinstein, sure as hell aint going to stop watching that film. Rosemary's Baby, Midnight in Paris and so forth.
