Ben Affleck IS Bruce Wayne/Batman

The voice modulator does indeed make sense, and it makes Batman sound more inhuman and threatening. No problem with me.

It's a shame about Bale's voice. In Batman Begins it wasn't that bad, he put some growl and a bit of rasp into it but it still sounded fine. I don't know what they were thinking, going with the voice he had in the second movie and parts of the third.

The "where's the trigger" scene still gets me every time.

you all forgot! Bruce Wayne is the mask. Batman is who really is. His Batman voice should be his real voice. The fake public persona is when he fakes his voice

Modulator not necessary. Bruce can just raise his pitch a little when he is Bruce Wayne in public.

Right, but not when he's around Alfred and his fellow Justice League members. They already know the truth; as such, he doesn't have to keep up the charade around them.

Remember the scene in BvS where he briefly converses with Mercy Graves? I forget exactly what he said, something about having "too too many [drinks]" followed by a compliment on her shoes. That was the "playboy Bruce" voice.

To clarify, I like to think that he has three separate voices: his true voice (which he shares exclusively with confidants, such as Alfred, Diana, etc.); his playboy persona voice (for the general public); and the Batman voice (which is basically his true voice with a modulator used as a secondary precaution in the event he slips up during the playboy act).

I also imagine that in this verisimilitudinous take on the DC universe, he kind of goes back and forth with the first two aforementioned voices or melds them into something uniquely suited to the task at hand.

I agree with both you guys. And I also think his private Bruce Wayne voice when around confidants should be very similar to his Batman voice.

That's why it is frustrating. Ben Afleck as Bruce Wayne very often talks in a voice that could be used as Batman.

That's one of the reasons I'm so excited for Suicide Squad. As per Ayer, for the first time ever, we'll be seeing what Batman is like from the perspective of the criminals he opposes.

That sounds promising and what I prefer in seeing but also not entirely accurate.

Both "I'm Batman" scenes from Batman 89 and Batman Begins put the audience in the criminals perspective encountering him for the first time.

Hell, the debut scene in BvS as well ... All went with a horror creature vibe from the oppositions perspective.

I don't think so. The voice changer is smart addition and it doesn't sound to robotic. It still makes a deep voice. Plus Bruce Wayne always had a masculine voice. That's never a problem. Both voices are distinct. I don't see the issue.

I just took his statement to mean that this may be the first time audiences will be seeing what it's like from the point of view of criminals who function as focal characters of the film. We'll be much more invested in the exploits of Quinn, Deadshot, et al., as opposed to some random thug w/o an arc. As such, the Batman-as-boogeyman experience could have an entirely different feel to it this time around. At least I hope it does.

What has happened to Bens face? Is just the weight? The stress? Maybe just good ol'age?

def looks like he's had some work done, be it botox or some other nip/tuck

agreed. that seems to be the case for everyone who does it imho

edit -- that said, i didn't notice it in the jl teaser, but have noticed it in every still i've seen of him since the time bvs premiered

Really? I noticed it in the teaser. His eyes weren't moving/expressing in the Barry scene lol.

great, now i'm never *not* gonna notice it :fistshaking dude:

He does look a bit different in those photos, but I thought he looked normal in the CC footage.

yeah, i just watched it and didn't really notice anything. the wonders of makeup, i guess

So, in a way we can say that in Suicide Squad we get to see a glimpse of the more compasive Batman, right? When he aprehends Deadshot, we see is around Christmas time, and I believe the main events of BvS happen around Nov 2015 (as seen on Luthor's party invitation). Am I reading this right?
