Ben Affleck IS Bruce Wayne/Batman

A person can still be big (intimidating) yet lean at the same time. We've had 'bear' Batman, now maybe we're getting a Batman who's a tad more 'athletic' and cut.

I just think he's lost a bit of weight in the face - perhaps his fitness regime was more cardio this time around as I swear he's leaner. Maybe the idea is that Bruce is back full time as Bats now and is in better shape than he was in BvS?

Yeah, I'm guessing the scene with Miller was filmed in the earliest stages of production when Ben was still on the slim side. In fact, this is what he looked like at the world premiere of BvS, only a couple of months before shooting on JL commenced. Since then, he's been gradually gaining weight and bulking up a bit, which the other scenes in the film are likely to reflect.

It's really his eyes that look weird to me.

I don't know. It sort of looks like the makeup they apply for the eye openings of the cowl isn't washing off properly.

Oh okay, yeah if you're talking about a CUT batman, I'm cool with that. I just don't want him to look like Bale from Rises

Actually, Bale was at his biggest and heaviest in Rises (90kgs - 86kgs in both Begins and TDK); I have a theory that people tend to think he was smaller because he got those trademark glass-cutter cheekbones back (which he didnt have for Begins because of his crash-dirty bulk and weight loss) so his face was thinner and more drawn. I dunno, but he was at his largest.

But I totally get what you mean.

I don't believe this for a second. I know there's an image floating around with his presumed weights on them. But he was upwards of 200 lbs in BB and had to have been around 185 at the most in Rises.

I'm sure Bale was always pretty big or at least well-built under that suit, but the aesthetic of the suit made him appear much smaller. The genius of Lindy Hemming.

Certainly he's got some muscle definition, but he's a fairly thin build in Rises. Which - is to be expected. I assume he's meant to look like he's getting back into the game rather than at his peak.

Yes, he infamously turned up for BB at 220lbs but was then told to lose weight and got down to 189lbs (or, I said before, 86kg), which he filmed most of the movie at. He was at his heaviest for Rises, and there are numerous sites out there that corroborate this (i'm not going to the effort of collating and posting all the links but if you want to see them all you have to do is Google the subject); you wanna beleive it or not, its your perogative.

I'm not doubting you - as I've seen the same sites, I'm doubting the information the sites are putting out. I know he was heaviest at the onset of filming BB, but thinking back to the temple scene where I think he was probably at his peak (phyiscally, not weight wise), he still looked ~200ish. There's no point in all of Rises where he looks heavier than his lightest in Batman Begins.

No sweat either way, just my opinion.

Could be, but I was also referring to TDK, as well as TDKR. There were few shots where you could see he got in a very good shape for the film, but the suit hid his physique and made him appear thinner.

Bale was in great shape for the whole trilogy. The suits didn't do him justice. They made him look like an average joe in a bat suit.

No probs.

TDK suit itself is a beautifully crafted thing. Just look at it standing in the case.

I agree that Bale was heaviest in TDKR, he just had more muscle, he looked bloated in BB.

My god. When ben atfleck is talking to the villagers about Aquaman, and again when talking to Flash his Bruce Wayne voice is perfect for Batman. Why use that ridiculous voice modulator?

Also shouldn't he have showed up to talk to Flash while still in costume, so as to protect his identity? He barely knows the guy. Same with Aquaman. Batman is not that kind of guy to reveal his identity so quickly to the team

Yeah I kinda wish he would ditch it. I will say though, it seems slightly toned down from the robotic sounding voice in BvS here, but I do need to hear more before I say for sure that it's different

I'm so happy we never have to see it on the big screen ever again.
I'm happy too.

Also, leave voice modulator alone. It's there for a reason and sounds incomparably better than throat cancer.

Better than Bale's throat cancer voice isn't saying much. Some people actually think it sounds worse. I happen to be in agreement with them. At least with Bale you could hear a person in there. Affleck sounds like some kind of Cyborg. I almost see it as emasculating for Batman, because Batman should be intimidating enough to not need a voice modulator.

Affleck looked like he gained some extra weight on SDCC WB panel.

In the face though? I always felt that he looked like he'd done a dirty bulk for BvS [so he was carrying a spare bit of timber] but now perhaps he's had time to pack on lean muscle; so he looks just as big but is more cut.
He probably ate too much pizza.

WB should learn from experience. Keaton, Conroy, and the guy from Batman vs Darth Vader, all did Batman voices that were not controversial, divisive, criticized, or mocked.

Oh Christ, are we still on the f***ing voice thing?

I mean, he's just disguising his voice. And he uses a modulator instead of doing it organically. Same outcome, so I don't care. I'm more impressed by how Ben alters his voice for Bruce than how any of the other actors have altered their voices for Batman.
