- They pump up before the scene. So his muscles are basically erect(yeah similar idea) with blood and so they look bigger.

After half and hour of rest, he did not look like that.

The reason why that shot looks so weird is that Affleck has a tatto which they covered up. Same as in Daredevil and why they had only shown him from the back in his shirtless scene.

Yeah, I'm sure he was a quivering fat mess after a half hour.

Everyone remotely muscular in films pumps up before scenes like that - not just Affleck - so one could argue they're all misrepresenting themselves. Does it matter? Affleck got in great shape regardless.
