Ben Affleck IS Bruce Wayne/Batman

In BvS ultimate edition during the batman superman fight, when batman's voice modulator is not working we get to hear a lot more of afleck's natural Batman voice.

It's really good. And had I not seen this movie I never would be able to recognize his voice as being that of ben Afleck.

Was never a fan of the voice modulator garbage. Kevin Conroy never needed it.

Hey guys, try to use spoiler tags , will ya?? Suicide Squad doesn't open in my country until next week.... :cmad:

So with it being revealed in "Suicide Squad" that...

The Joker isn't exactly behind bars in the present day and is still actively causing trouble

Does anyone feel like this makes Batman come off as neglectful to this threat? As far as we know, he's been operating as Batman for 20 years (and went on a new mean streak since Superman arrived), yet somehow.....
he allows the Joker to remain alive and on the loose

So, like every other classic batman and joker interaction/relationship ever? :oldrazz:

Oh, I forgot Bale's Batman also rounded him up and put back in jail before retiring in italy? Granted, we know why joker didnt show up...but still, Batman aint got no mo' time for that. lol

Keaton Batman intended to kill Joker even though he missed every shot from the Batwing.

Not sure if he was gliding or not, but I love how batfleck descended behind Deadshot. Straight out of the panels.

Snyder's Batfleck is probably the first version of Batman that has come to terms with his parent's murder. Batman saving Martha in BvS was supposed to be a catharsis.

Unexplored territory. Think about that.

That was a crazy good shot. It's the closest I've come yet to craving another Batsolo.

TDKR did it.

TDKR did it.
Nolan or the comics? Nolan's Batman wasn't so much driven by guilt as he was by the love of Gotham. It can be argued that Ra's Al Ghul taught him how to let go of that guilt in the first 30 minutes of Batman Begins.

Nolan's. Ra's only taught Bruce how to use the guilt and rage. It was in the pit in TDKR he finds some value in himself as a person (beyond the scope of Batman and Gotham) and let's go of the guilt he carried for his parents. Once he does that, he's not Batman anymore-- Hence the ending.

Fair enough.

The bats in the pit. Were they a manifestation of his fear returing? Or real bats? Ra's taught him how to be fearless too.

True. It really made me think "man, I need to see a full film with him going after these street-level villains as soon as possible". Only thing that got me that close to craving a Batman solo was the warehouse fight in BvS.

I wasn't all that crazy for another Batman film so soon (which is kinda funny, considering that I am a Batman fan first and foremost and that I found Bale's Batman to be lacking in many departments... I guess I got kinda fed up after "Arkham" games), but damn do I need it now. Especially, having Affleck's quote about it being a detective story in mind.

Ra's taught him to use fear as a weapon, indeed.

Remember, Bruce has a death wish throughout the first half of TDKR, though he doesn't necessarily admit it. He doesn't care about himself, just Batman and Gotham... But Alfred picks up on it, as does the Doctor in the pit. "You don't fear death. You this this makes you strong. It makes you weak. How can someone move faster than possible, fight longer than possible, without the most powerful impulse of the spirit... The fear of death. Make the climb as the child did-- without the rope. Then your fear will find you again".

In doing so, facing death with fear instead of bravery (or arrogance as he did with Bane), he cares about himself beyond Gotham (which represents his parents in a very real way, considering how much they themselves tried to save the city before they died) for the first time in a decade. The bats scaring him in the pit (which I believe to be real) is the first time he's shown to be startled by them since he went back to the cave in BB-- They're the two bookends to him becoming Batman, and finally ridding himself of the need to be Batman.

As long as it promises to be different than the ones we've seen before. I think you're right in that truly street level is the way to go... I'm getting the feeling that Joker (and maybe Harley) will be involved, though, which screams BIG to me in some way. I'd personally favour something like a Riddler/Deadshot team up.

Also, they did well in that brief scene to create a Gotham we haven't quite seen on film before. It looked more like Arkham Origins than Burton/Schumacher/Nolan.

Oh, I'd like to see Riddler done properly in live action for once, even though it is usually established in comics that Riddler's clues are no problem for older Bats to figure out. I would go for a darker portrayal of Riddler though... more close to the Zodiac killer or Jack the Ripper.
Still, I think we'll be getting Joker for sure. And as much as I'm sick of seeing Joker (again, thanks to "Arkham" games), Leto's Joker in SS did left me unsure what to think of him, and I'd like to see the character more fleshed out, so I could give a verdict.

Indeed, I liked all scenes set in Gotham, aside from the batmobile chase one... the street didn't strike me as much Gotham City-ish there. There was also a quite nice overview of the city and I was so happy to see that short glimpse at the Arkham Asylum we got.

Well if the rumors are to be believed the Batman film is to take place in Arkham and I would guess would take some inspiration from a serious house on a serious earth and from Batman: Arkham Asylum, I actually hope it is a situation where they blend "a serious house on a serious earth/Batman: Arkham Asylum" and under the red hood together where Jason Todd secretly orchestrates Bats to be trapped in an overrun arkham with all his rogues. So I take it from your tone you either didn't like the Arkham game series, they were so good that you didn't need another film all that much, or were you just Batmaned out by the last game.

So I guess my request to cool it with SS spoilers was completely ignored....

Why, thanks guys!! Is there a safe haven in this land...??!! :cmad:

I really liked Batfleck's brief content in SS - but indeed, it was all too brief.

Batfleck again, being one of the best things about the movie. The man is already my favorite film Batman, but they keep letting him down.

We aint worthy of the Fleck.

It's not a bad point, but that's pretty much the status quo with superheroes. Especially Batman, because we know [blackout]from the Gotham travel guide that villains are pretty much operating out in the open[/blackout]

An AA adaptation is the perfect template for a Batman solo for multiple reasons.

First, it'll handily constrict the budget, which by christ is something WB need to do with these movies.

Second, it'll move us away from the tedious one/two villain dynamic that's been played out endlessly in superhero movies since the dawn of time.

Third, it'll allow for a more simple, focussed storyline that'll allow time for some proper psychological exploration of Batman and his rogues gallery.

Fourth, it's a proven story, both with ASHOSE and the games.

Fifth, it's ****ing Die Hard with Batman. Die Hard with Batman. $1.3 billion + world wide.
