I think Terrio is great.t:

I personally wouldn't call Jenkins a step up from MacLaren. If there was a choice between Matt Reeves and Affleck from the very start, Matt Reeves got my pick. He's really good with a large scope blockbusters while focusing on character. Reeves would be like a more palatable, warmer version of Nolan.
This is a great step-up just like Patty Jenkins replacing MacLaren. Now I need someone else to direct Superman. I give David Ayer a pass because of the rushed and sloppy script. He's still better than Snyder because there were great character moments in Suicide Squad.

And why would you give Ayer a pass for the sloppy script? He wrote the thing!
Because I don't buy that it's good or that they suddenly turned in a new one that everyone is happy with (suspiciously days after s**t hit the fan about a page one rewrite). Terrio, Johns and Affleck working on a script for DC, gives me zero confidence.I'm not that excited but I think Matt Reeves is a solid choice.

I wouldn't call him an auteur either.
Us on the hype? (Gareth Evans, Denis Villeneuve, Chad Stahelski, David Leitch, Gavin O'Conner, Rian Johnson...Zack Snyder)I'm curious which other directors people wanted for this (who's available).

Matt Reeves, Chris Terrio, Geoff Johns, Ben Affleck
sounds wonderful!![]()
Johns and Batman.......Hahahaha. Anyway, the others seem fine.

Because he had to write it in 6 weeks and its his first shot.
If one doesn't get it right the first time, they shouldn't have another shot.Because he had to write it in 6 weeks and its his first shot.
I agree with all of that except, i thought the extended cut was worse.Extended cut is slightly better, but yea even Ayer admitted that script was sloppy.
I'll give Marvel credit for having there scripts done a year in advance.
DC needs a strong writer's room for their films. Ayer had no business writing that movie by himself. Although I do think Bar scene is a good indication of good Ayer.
Not going to forget its the dude that wrote Training Day. Comic book films just aren't his wheelhouse.
