I dig the costume but I hate the haircut. He also needs blue skin since he's clearly infected with the techno-organic virus.

This looks more like some suit he put on than it does someone who has techno-organic wings growing out of his back that can fling wing knives!

In fact, I think it's almost safe to say, based on this picture alone, that the transformation will not be caused through the T-O virus, and that's just one more missed opportunity!

Also, is it just me or is Ben Hardy perfect casting? He's a blond pretty boy and I always envisioned Archangel with a British as opposed to American accent. At least that's how I read him.

All I ask is that he have blue skin. Warren without blue skin is like Cyclops without the visor or Wolverine without the claws. Plus, it's not hard for the audience to swallow considering that we've already see Beast, Mystique and Nightcrawler.

I love how the wing bones have an organic look, but the feathers look like knives. A bit different from the popular comic interpretation, but pretty awesome.

His costume definitely reminds of the Dark Archangel costume. Which is great. And I like how the shaved part of his head is reminiscent of the cowl he has had before.

Has it been confirmed that the entire movie takes place in the 80s? I have a feeling the movie takes place in other time periods as well but won't have time travel.

Look at the wings again. They're clearly made of metal. Apocalypse clearly transforms him. It's just without the blue skin.

This is clearly an adaptation of Fall of the Mutants where Warren loses his wings and goes to Apocalypse to restore them. Warren is going to be a mutant and not just wearing a suit, otherwise the plot won't make sense since Apocalypse wants to exterminate humanity, he won't work to save a human. Plus, the circus concept art with the organic wings is also present.

The plot of Fall of the Mutants is Apocalypse grants Archangel his wings back after an injury forces them to be amputated. He then joins Apocalypse as one of his horsemen and Apocalypse proceeds to destroy New York City. That's the plot we're getting. Expect New York to be completely leveled by the end of the film.

I'm also hoping that we get certain cameos when new characters are recruited.

Mister Sinister should cameo as the man running Cyclops orphanage who allows Xavier to adopt him. No mention of Weapon X is made. He's just known as, "Doctor Essex" and is the guy putting Scott in Xavier's foster care.

Shadow King should be part of Storm's recruitment scene. Something where he's shown using her to steal for him in Africa who's also a dangerous telepath like Xavier. It's not shown that he survives as a psionic entity. He's simply shown as Ahmal Farouk who runs a band of African thieves and titles himself Shadow King. He gets into a mental battle with Xavier with Charles killing him like in Scanners.

Nightcrawler should hopefully have a younger sister. That or Rogue's parents are murdered when Apocalypse levels New York and Mystique adopts her. Something with Nightcrawler and Rogue being siblings should occur at some point in the film.

Those are the cameos I want to see. Not as big roles, just as bit parts for one scene.

As for how that applies to Warren? I want to see a wealthy old childhood friend of his arrange for his wings to be amputated out of sheer jealousy and hatred for mutants. Cameron Hodge would just be a small bit part.

Yes, of course Apocalypse will transform him and that it's not just a suit. That's not what I said. My point was that, to me, it looks more like just a suit, like the Vulture's wings in TASM2, than what I believe Archangel's wings should look like.

Yes, I agree with you, this will be the story of Apocalypse's origin, mixed in with the Fall of Mutants inspired story (as far as it being Archangel as Death).

I have a feeling Angel joining Apocalypse won't be his choice. It's likely to be a brainwashed type thing, just like in the comics. They'll be able to break through his mental manipulation (Xavier) which is likely how they will win.

I would much rather see Sinister as an agent of Apocalypse than the dude at the orphanage. In fact, I have a feeling Scott will already be at the school at the start and we won't see the orphanage at all. It's not necessary!

Not expecting to see any story associated with the Shadow King. For the GA it's a bit out there. Much rather just see Ororo in Cairo as a street thief who ends up finding En Sabur Nur's resting sanctum and gets caught up in this whole thing. Personally I's prefer for Gambit to be part of Ororo's initial story, but that's unlikely. Not expecting to see the Shadow King at all.

In the standard 616 Nightcrawler was not raised with his "younger sister" Rogue. First of all, she wouldn't even be born yet, and should not be in this movie. If they wanted to do a story with Mystique set in the 90's where she is raising a young Rogue, that's one thing, but Rogue should not be in this Apocalypse movie!

My best guess is that the wing amputation will happen as part of Apocalypse's tranformation process!

To my knowledge, Warren was never infected with the T-O Virus, so I'm not sure what you're talking about. Apocalypse just grafted the metal wings onto him and then it was later retconned to be that they were a shell to grow back his original wings.

I see what you mean. Though I think the full-length 'feathers' we see in the pic resemble scalpel-ilke blades... which is a cool concept. I think we'll see flying knives for sure.

I think it's also that the wings somewhat look like they are connected to/part of the uniform. If there was a clear distinction between what was just outfit and what was actually wings, I would likely feel that this was better.

I have a small worry (cause even though it might look like it, there's no way that this is what they'd do - right?) that the wings are not "living" or organic metal if you will. Meaning, due to how the outfit seems to be somewhat mechanized in the same way as the wings, it almost looks like it's not Warren's body connected to the wings as much as it's an external add-on that could be removed.

Again, I'm sure that that is not the case, cause that would be terrible. I don't believe, or at least hope that they wouldn't just have him with wing "humerus"es extending from his back that connects to a removeable wing system, right?
