Blade II and Hellboy are comicbook movies, but not really superhero movies.

If I had included him I would have added Steven Norrington as well.

By that definition, he is the prime example. Batman was created basically to capitalize off the popularity of Superman, right down to the aesthetic. It's why, despite being a "creature of the night" he was still given the tights and briefs.

Anyways, gotta give this to Raimi.

not everything he hit was a home run but S.Norrington rocked the heck outta Blade. could be the best superhero/Marvel film ever.
