Not really. In SM3's case, a kneejerk fanboy reaction would be the exact opposite.

My vote goes to Spider-Man 2.1 but that's not an option. =\

I thought Spiderman 2.1 was a better version of the movie as well.

I think Spider-Man 2 was better than 2.1. Some of the scenes cut were great, but the doctor scene and the train fight I think were better cut down (especially the doctor scene...the extra dialogue was not nearly as impactful, and I still say Spidey getting hit by a subway like that would hurt him much more).

Not much better, but just a tad.

I think the extended doctor scene works well in 2.1. I believe it gives Peter's line, "Strong focus on what I want!" more impact further into the film when he is just about to leap from the rooftop, as it references what the Doctor said about his shrink.

But that's just what I think. :D

I thought I was the only one that felt that way. Also the Elevator scene with Hal Sparks was better in the original version because it felt more in keeping with the mood of the scenes around it. Plus that M.J and her pal shoe shopping scene seemed to slow the movie.
I liked the added action scenes, but the other stuff could have gone so I prefer 2 over 2.1 as a film.

It worked better short and sweet. He was almost rambling in the extended scene. I think his shortend dialogue leaves more of an emotional impact.

Completely agree.

1. Spider-man 2
2. Hulk
3. Spider-man
4. X-men 2
5. Spider-Man 3

Are my top 5 favorites

I thought it was a better version too, though since it isn't an option, I simply voted for Spider-Man 2. :D

Well i still think X2 is the better movie, so i voted for that in the end, but i liked 2.1 A LOT.

TOTALLY agree, this is what the doctor said his shrink tells him in the extended scene, so it sounds like Peter REALLY took notice of what the doctor told him.

Completely agree.

I felt the MJ and her friend scene was an excellent addition to the movie, and didnt slow it down at all, he really showed how MJ's Dad has effected her life and decision making. In the normal version it just look like she accepts JJ's proposal to piss Peter off making her look shallow IMO.

Still remains Spider-Man 2, I think Marvel's movies this year have been dissapointing.

I voted Ghost Rider b/c a) he's my fav & b) the movie was 100% from the comic.

Personally I thought it was the best adaption yet. Say what you will about the acting, action, script, etc...

I agree, i didnt think any of them were particularly bad, but non were good either, they all tended to be average or just over.

Nice to see someone vote for something different. And I agree, GR was VERY faithful to its source.

I'm reading Essential Ghost Rider Vol.1 now, and the movie is VERY accurate to that.

It's actually more accurate to the current GR series, not the 70s version.

Oh i disagree, it is VERY accurate to Essential GR Vol.1 IMO, even down to some lines of dialogue. I would say GR's power level is closer to today though.

How so? GR dresses like Dan Ketch, wields a chain, rides a bike like in the current series, deals with Lucifer and not Mephisto, and has a Penance Stare. Not exactly Vol. 1 material.

nothing so far from Marvel tops Spider-Man 2.Awaiting for the movie that does though,Iron Man might do it...since it's directed by an independent film maker.

glad spider-Man 3 is getting some love

wooot!

Spider-Man 3 was a mess. At the end of part 2,MJ was so excited to be with peter parker and didn't care about the risks and was willing to take that and she just found out peter is spider-man...then part 3 comes along and she's all depressed, hanging out with harry,spider-man being full of himself, slapping MJ around, not enough Venom ect... horrible movie and a major letdown.

What about X2?

I'd say both IM & TIH have a shot next year at besting SM2. It will be tough though. So far IMHO, only STM is better than SM2.
