Isnt it funny the way on this poll SM3 is beating SM quite easily, but on the best ever poll on Misc Comic movies, SM is beating SM3 quite easily.

So true. So true.

Oh on 2.1

I think the only thing that was sorely missed in the TC that was in 2.1 was the extended scene between Pete and Harry at the beginning that made them feel more brotherly and had incidentally a good tie-in to SM3 (perhaps Raimi was already thinking about what came next). I also liked the doctor scene as it related back to Conners and developed the Parker/Conners relationship a little more, and being a Lizard fan, I loved that.

Really the extra MJ moment in teh backyard dragged though, the fight scenes were cool but I think the falling side the room on the building slowed that fight too much and allowed Parker to punch Ock too many times. And while I liked the idea of a solo MJ scene talking with her friend, her pretty friend gave a lame "what to do speech" that unfortunately became the bad tonal choices populating MS3.

I also think the elevator scene with Hal Sparks was too much and worked much better as subtle comedy in the TC as opposed to the flat out Groucho Marx thing in the elevator.

You call Ghost Rider crap yet you say Man-Thing is OK?

Blade II is and was my all time favorite, followed by Punisher w/Thomas Jane and the Hulk...the Spidermans and Xmens were okay...Wolverine looks very promising. Ghost Rider gets an honorable mention only because Im a fan of the character...

Spiderman 2 then X2 for me

I'm surprised to see SM3 rated so high on the poll.

Spiderman 3 was far superior to Spiderman 1 and 2 in my opinion. That might be the only reason I might buy the entire trilogy.

X1 = best X-Men movie for representing the sci-fi and characters of the comics. This movie feels to me most like the X-Men I am familiar with. The themes and roles of the comics seem like they are right there on screen, mostly. Great production designs (the school, Cerebro, X-jet, Mystique), brilliant opening sequence with Magneto's origin. The most solid X-Men movie of the three.

X2 = best in terms of human drama and characterisation, starts to stray from the source a little more, but the Phoenix story was very nicely adapted.

X3 = best for capturing the popcorn entertainment feel of a cartoon or comicstrip, but a departure from the previous two movies and the absolute worst of the three for characterisation and accurately capturing the themes/roles. Ratner/Penn/Kinberg only get away with this because of the two previous movies laying down so much groundwork, and even then they screwed a lot of things up. I think we'd have had tonal inconsistency whoever was hired to finish off Singer's stories...but the lack of intelligence and substance in this movie has quite obviously upset a lot of people and the studio must learn.

Spiderman franchise = not really a huge fan of the character, and prefer villains like Scorpion, Vulture, Rhino, Morbius, from my childhood days.. first two movies did a very good job of capturing the themes and roles on screen. Third movie was badly made.

Fantastic Four movies = ultimately too flimsy and forgettable, though entertaining at the time. Like quick anonymous sex rather than long sensual pleasure. Nothing here to draw you back time after time.

For my favourite, I'd pick the X-franchise, and for the best within that, I think X1 is the strongest and most classic and most accurate.

Heh, I knew this would follow. Lemme explain:

Man-Thing
As a adaptation of the Marvel comic = crap
As a b-horror shiznit = OK

Are we clear now? :oldrazz:

Fair enuff.

I know what you mean, Marvel REALLY needs to buck their ideas up for next year.

I disagree, i actually thought 2.1 was the better version of the movie, and not just because of the better, extended fight scene's.

What is that, selective arguing? Only reading what you want to read?
